First watched the Hallmark Christmas movie based on this book and decided to borrow the book from the library as a light read in between professional development/work related books. I must say that while I liked the movie better, the book was cute and a fun, quick read.

This could have been a lovely book....... had it been written by someone else. Decent enough storyline but written in such a fluffy way, with the story poorly explored, loose ends not tied up and dialogue that just makes you cringe. This almost reads like a half decent first draft that needs a fair amount more work.

Maybe this is just too "chick-lit" for me.

The storyline may be cheesy and unbelievable, with an over-the-top and whimsical romance. However, it serves as a light-hearted and enjoyable holiday tale that is short and entertaining. I found myself chuckling at my own enjoyment of it.

Christmas Book #6 for 2024.

It's the 21st of December and Ashley is at the San Francisco airport, desperately trying to book a flight to Seattle to surprise her mum for Christmas. As all the flights are fully booked, she decides to rent a car instead, and ends up having to share the last available rental car with Dash, who needs to get to Seattle for a job interview.
Unbeknowst to them, they are being chased by the FBI after Ashley's name was pinged as a person of interest at the airport.
