I picked this book up from my local library, searching for a spooky, easy read. I must say, I got exactly that!

While my age is a little bit, and then some, above the targetted age group, I very much managed to enjoy this book, which features 10 short stories told by a guest to 2 younger children at an Inn. In the end, it all comes together into a creepy conclusion. Don't read right before bedtime when you're young. ;)

The story develops when a mystery sailor visits the childrens inn, when their father has left to get them help whilst they are ill. The sailor tells them stories to pass the time and this leads to an interesting twist at the end. i really did enjoy this book and the tales which an through it. Even though the book is especially written for children, I think adults will enjoy this to. A real sense of fun throughout. Well written and well told. Looking forward to reading the other books.

this one felt more predictable than the prequel and some of the stories were more of a miss (looking at you, Monkey). the over-arching story hit me straight in the feels though :(
