I am looking forward to the sequel. In fact the sooner it comes out the better.
Will West as always been told to blend in. He is as average as can be for a teenager who moves every year to a new place. The only thing he can count on is his parents and running. He never thought that taking a standarized test would send everything spiraling out of control but when he scores exceptionally well on test that he wasn't even trying on, his world changes, fast.
Chased to school by black cars, his mom is acting strange, attacked by invisible monsters and his dad is kidnapped for work, Will is offered a full scholarship to a private prep school in Wisconsin. Convinced it is the only place that might be safe, he goes with the help of Nando the taxi driver.
While there he discovers four friends, serval bullies, a mysterious island, the cryptic cross country coach and several conspricay theorys. Not to mention a missing boy, Will's own personal guardian angel and anther relam. Its a lot for Will to take in. Good thing he can move fast.
This book was fast paced, once I got passed the first chapter. However for all the rapid pace, very little information was given. I will also admit that the angel and never-was, mixed with the kidnappers in suits, the possiblity of mutant powers and being chased all the time.
The mix of x-men, bourne and guradian angels was weird. I still think it's wierd. But it works, which is why I want the sequel, so that it will answer some of the questions. Maybe. If I'm lucky.

Three stars only because it was an easy read but it was so simplistic it was infuriating. If all the characters are supposed to be geniuses then they should act like them.

YA fantasy/thriller 14+
This story starts of more like an action thriller, and only slowly adds more and more fantasy.
It kept me entertained throughout the story, and I really bonded well with the main character. I fully intend to read the sequels too!

I adore this series. It is exceptionally well-written, surprising and something I now share with my son who loves the dash of history in this too. Right up there with the Percy Jackson and Harry Potter for me, but with a bit more wit and intelligence than either of the latter (though I adore them too). Just amazing. Will re-read these over my life for sure and recommend to all!

So, I start this book and I don't want to put it down. That doesn't happen often, so I'm really excited. But then I hit just over the halfway point. Blam! The book slows down and gets so convoluted. I'm not sure if Frost was trying to bring too much together at once, but there were unnecessary characters and info which did nothing to propel the story forward. It got a little better at the end when some things were explained, but not enough for me to want to try reading more by this author. Started off so great. Oh well.

This book had lots of ups and downs for me. One minute it’s very fast paced with a lot of action and the next I was a bit bored. The last 100 pages really turned it around for me and made it a very interesting fantasy/sci-fi read for me.
It’s a fun book but I’ve read better books in this genre.

Enjoyable book if you like teen books. It took dang near 80% of the book before any of your questions were answered. Interested to see what the next book is like.
