Are you looking for logic or common sense in this play? I have pretty disappointing news for you.
Let's have sex because I hate you, or no, now I do love you, but let ghost of my dead mother watch us.
And than again, you give birth of our child and I love you, but than it's turned out you sedused me in order to get my sperm, and I hate you.But than you are killing our new born baby and I reporting on you and want you to pay for what you've done, but than fucking not, let me confess on this crime I didn't commit because I really love you, and what to do to jail with you.
And me be reading this shit with WHF face.

Interesting rendition of a modern Greek tragedy. If you dig Freudian concepts and revenge, this might be the performance for you.

Read for Theatre History.
I have to give O'Neill some credit for serving as an establishing voice in the naturalist movement, but I genuinely hated this play. I didn't get what the point of the dialect was, and it just made me more irritated with the characters. No one in this play gets a full character arc; Abbie exists to be demonized and oversexualized. I was kind of looking forward to this based on the synopsis, but it fell completely flat for me.
