The crime at the center of NYPD Red 2 is intriguing, though I wish they didn’t give away the big reveal so early (it can certainly be argued there’s a late inning twist but still). The action is fast paced and enjoyable, however the main characters (especially Kylie) waffle on being near unlikable at times and the romantic pull of Zach felt forced and unrealistic given the gorgeous woman wiling to sleep with him!!
I had fun though, and I love Karp’s work as a writer and humorist, so I’ll certainly be back for more!

I broke a New Year's resolution - vowed not to read another book by Patterson, or whoever is doing the writing for him these days. I need quick reads to fulfill a reading challenge of 10001+ pages read in a month. So.... swallow my pride and read another Patterson book. This book was actually pretty good. My bet is Karp did most of the writing.

Meh, I read them in an afternoon, so that's good, but the plots are tissue paper thin, and the characters two dimensilonal. Good for when you turn your brain off and relax, but not for much more.
