What a complete nonsense this book was! I don't know what's wrong with the recent books of Kristen Ashley but this one was the top of nonsense. I didn't need this in my head! I didn't want to listen to the audiobook and thanks god I waited for the paper version because listening to this disaster would have been much more horrible for my ears but now due to my imagination I have it in my head, I need to forget everything that I've read. I should have got the audio version.
I mean, first of all, did the author watched an adult movie then just put all the details in this book, it was so vulgar from that shocking start, where was the romance? I felt like K.A thinks that we read her books just for the sex scenes so she thought, perhaps, putting those crude scenes would make us happy. I don't speak for the others but for me it didn't work.
I hated it, the story was boring with this jumping from characters to others, some dialogues were sooooooo boring that I had to pass and to move on because those details were irrelevant. I don't know if the other books are just like this one but I'm sure not going to find out. I'm sooooo DISAPPOINTED that I lost my time waiting & reading this book.

The beginning was tough to follow as it switched from 1st person to 3rd person POV every chapter while world building. Eventually it all starts to comes together but I still have trouble remembering how all the couples are intertwined.

I waited forever for this book to come out in ebook because I knew it would be easy to get lost in an audible version. I am glad I waited. It seems that again, I am in the minority when it comes to books that KA fans dislike or struggle with as they seem to hold my attention the longest.

This book does start out quite hardcore. I think it was done to show how much was at stake and the direness of what would happen if this Beast is brought forward by some very repugnant and overzealous zealots (for lack of a better word.) Prior to starting this, I knew it loosely linked to the FantasyLand series. Other than that I was going in blind, so I had no idea what to expect. It did catch me off guard that rather than the usual book for each couple with an intermingled storyline that it was told from a different POV. This actually didn't hinder the storyline at all as it is clear who is speaking in each chapter and it builds on the story. I appreciated the grittiness of the story. I also did not find myself shying away from the sexual tones of the story because in my opinion they did not hinder or overpower the story because there is A LOT of story around those times. Anyone that reads KA, knows she is a detail queen.

There were glimpses of her alpha men again which I loved. I was pretty shocked by the ending but I think it had to be that way because there needed to be some angst and what-if moments. It was all going swimmingly up to that point so it would be hard if there wasn't some resistance in how this prophecy was handled in regard to the Beast rising. I can tell, I am going to enjoy this series. For anyone on the fence, I will give the same advice as I normally do. Read this book for yourself to decide if it is a book for you. Books are magic and they all have a different impact on us and therein lies their beauty.

I like this series. I didn't like that each chapter was about a different couple and it was like jumping from one place to another but it is something that you can get used to and in the end, it didn't bother me that much. But this whole world was amazing and interesting and sucked me up from the beginning! I still can't believe KA killed one character I like! I didn't expect him to die! WHY!?

Expected more after Golden Dynasty series but oh boy..

First off, the book begins with gruesome scenes. Includes r*pe. And guess what? Includes many more gruesome scenes.

I had a huge problem with this book. Initially I was excited to read this series as I was in love with Golden Dynasty , Fantastical, Wildest Dream & Broken Dove

But

This had around five different point of views and maybe the author wanted to add depth and tell the story from every character's side, yet for me, it a was totally opposite experience as a reader.

I felt that it actually made the story feel bland and plain. Instead of telling the plot from 5 different POVs which did not make me feel connected to the characters, individually, in any sort of way, the author could've gone ahead with only two main characters in book one.

Maybe Mars and Silence in this one, with the other couples shown as side characters.

And then those couples could've been given their own books in the later series that follow this.
Loved the plot, but again, it was a messy read for me.
Not planning on reading the rest of the books that follow this.

But I'll keep my ears open for new books from the author because Kristen Ashley's plots are always out of the box and her romance, mostly, is splendid.

Interesting start! A lot of switching of perspectives which felt more GOT than KA but all good!
