Before We Were Us by Denise Hunter

This was a cute story with a beautiful setting. I am a sucker for close knit family run businesses so this really delivered.

I loved the dual time aspect of this book of before and after her fall. It was interesting to see the parallels.

Amnesia would be incredibly hard to deal with but there were times I felt that Lauren could have done better and her reluctance to try annoyed me.

I was thankful that eventually she came around and opened herself up.

I loved the glimpses into their childhoods. I liked that they had commonalities that helped them relate to each other.

 Overall very cute.

I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Road Trip Rivalry by Mona Shroff

Personally I hate road trips, but in a book they can provide some excellent forced proximity and bickering.

This one also includes an adoptive grandmother influencing every moment of the road trip. She is quite the character!

This one barely qualifies for one 🔥 but it does do a fade to black scene. But the kisses and the attraction are wonderful. I loved it.

I also loved how honestly these two would talk to each other. The build up of trust by the end was a favorite.

Highlights from this one include them teaching each other things.

He teaches her how to drive on the wrong side of the road and she teaches him how to drive a stick shift!

I got an advanced copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.

My first racing book was a hit. Loved the characters, the racing scenes all over the world, and the diversity.

I especially loved the chronic illness representation. Willow doesn't let her condition hold her back but she does work hard to take care of herself and manage it. I also loved how Dev could tell when she was in pain.
