This book is dark, weird and uncomfortable but I find it not as disturbing as some have described before. Yes it’s about a tough subject matter but the underlying pull going on with the psyche is where the true story is at.

A good quick read with an interesting mystery that will take you different directions to figure out what is really going on at the Summer Rental. My criticism for this book is that the real mystery and pace doesnt pick up until about 65% of the way through and for a short book I wanted the mystery and tense scenes to start sooner. It just dragged for the first half. Once you do get there thiugh you realize the character building and the first half of the book was definitely still important to the finale.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 16%.

This felt sleazy in a bad way… poor writing. How many times do we need to hear informed of her bleached blonde hair, we get it. The characters are one dimensional and super stereotypical. Unrealistic asf and I guess if thats your thing then go for it. But this felt gross
Also the amount of tomes Zack kept calling her “Pet” was enraging..

Middle of the night is a creepy and mysterious thriller with a bit of spooky vibes. The twists and ways Riley Sager tried to lead you were good until it became almost overdone and just felt EXTREMELY misleading and made no sense after the fact
especially the flashback of Billy’s mom.. felt unnecessary after the other times you got lead in a different direction and once the final reveal was made
. I can say though I was somewhat surprised by the reveal but not completely.

Part of your world was equally romantic and emotional with important little messages (i like to call life lessons) sprinkled through out. I enjoyed this book quite a lot

“Home is Where The Bodies Are” was the perfect dark story with a great plot twist but emotional ending and resolve. This was my first Jeneva Rosa novel and I can’t wait to read more. The pacing is well done and I found myself relating to some of the characters in different ways.

I think because of the subject of this book the story can be confusing but it was so worth it to keep reading and really discover what was really going on in the house. I will say that the confusion lasted a little long though so that’s why this isnt a 4 star read but I did enjoy trying to figure out this mystery.
