This was such a fun read. First of all, I have to say I was obsessed with the Mummy when I was younger. This book gave me all the Mummy vibes that I wanted. It's a mix of that with a murder mystery, so I was definitely hooked.
I really enjoyed Inez as our main character. She was striving for independence and was remarkably resilient during the book. As for Whit, absolutely loved him. Slightly brooding but always had the charm ready to go. I enjoyed reading about the other characters as well. The author did a great job at weaving the mystery of what happened to her parents. That mixed with the visions of Cleopatra from the past kept the plot moving quickly.
I will say that around 90%, I thought everything was going to be wrapped up nicely, and that did not happen. There were so many twists and turns in the last portion of the book. I did not realize that this was going to be part of a series because there is definitely a cliffhanger at the end....and I need answers haha.

This was such a cute story. I was very intrigued when reading the summary of this book. It seemed like such a fun and unique concept, and I really enjoyed reading it. I loved the meet cute between our two MC's, Katie and Callum. (PS: love the name Callum). It was so funny and I felt like it summarized their characters very well. I liked the small town vibe and all of the side characters we were able to meet. It was fun to follow Katie's journey with saving her town. I would definitely recommend this book for a light, fun and easy read!

First off, let me just say that I love Hank. He is so soft and so good. I just want to give him a hug. Hank and Esther's meet cute at the diner was sooo perfect. I loved the use of tarot cards (in that scene and throughout the story - I'm a sucker for tarot cards apparently).
I really enjoyed the paranormal element. I was not expecting it, but I liked how it affected the story. All of the side characters were so dynamic and unique, and I liked that we got to know a bit about them throughout the story. (I hope some of them get their own books!) I also really appreciated the inclusion of mental health. And let me just say, the SPICE y'all. It was there and it was amazing.
Throughout the whole story, Callum was searching for Esther which is why she is on the run in the first place. The tension seemed to rise with every mention of him. It did wrap up very nicely without any issues. I was waiting/hoping for some sort of altercation or fight to happen instead.

Well this was a wild ride. It had me laughing at some points, and blushing at others. However, it was more serious then I expected it to be. Definitely an interesting story.
