Just My Type was an absolute delight to listen to! In saying that, it hasn’t really stuck with me too much a few days after finishing it. I will definitely say I enjoyed it and remember smiling, giggling and swooning while listening so it’s definitely worth the read! The characters were very likeable and relatable, the storyline felt natural and real. It was the perfect mix of emotional, funny and entertaining.

This series has been so sweet. I still don’t think I’m super sold on graphic novels, but I’m very glad I read these and I will continue as they are released. I think these are absolutely perfect for teenagers nowadays, as it explores so many important topics and how to talk to one another. This fourth graphic novel is definitely my favourite so far, as it’s the most in-depth, with the most solid story line. Very cute.

Honestly at this point I’d rather eat an entire pot of brown beans, bacon and hot dogs than have to read any more of this dumpster fire. That’s all I’m gonna say.

I always want to squeal with joy when I finish a thriller novel without rolling my eyes. All The Dangerous Things might take the top spot for thrillers so far this year. While I was wildly uncomfortable, terrified and angry right from the beginning of this book, it was for all the right reasons. The author really gets under your skin and makes you feel all the uncomfortable feelings and emotions the characters are experiencing.

Usually I can't stand thriller novels that revolve around a woman's mental health, postpartum and postpartum mental health, but this one really handled it well and I loved the author's note at the end about it. I couldn't have predicted the outcome of this novel if I tried. I was fully enthralled in the entirety of this book from start to finish and I couldn't get enough! Can't wait for more from Stacy Willingham.

The Coronation Year by Jennifer Robson

A historical fiction novel with a little bit of extra 'oomph' is basically The Coronation Year! While I did expect most of this book to be based on the actual Coronation, I shouldn't have as it followed a similar pattern to The Gown, also by Jennifer Robson. Ultimately, it was more enjoyable as the story it was, rather than fully surrounding the coronation of the Queen.

The first half of this book reads very slow and very descriptive, both of London, the characters and their stories. I did struggle a bit through it, finding it hard to focus and get fully involved, but the second half really takes off and captures the reader through the unfolding mystery and character developments. While it won't be my favourite of Robson's books, it's definitely a great historical fiction read!
Lizzie Blake's Best Mistake by Mazey Eddings

Well, I'll admit I almost abandoned this book immediately. I have a VERY hard time with this trope, for absolutely every reason, and it usually makes me completely ditch the book and move on. I decided to give it a shot after friends recommendations, and because I have previously enjoyed Mazey's writing.

While I struggled with the entire story because of the trope, I also struggled with the MC. Maybe it was because I was already annoyed but it felt like everything she did bothered me. In saying all of this, I still clearly enjoyed it because I rated it 4 stars. The relationship between our MC's was beautiful and natural feeling and I loved the development and growth Lizzie had with her family. It wasn't super memorable, but it was definitely enjoyable.

I'm not the best person to take notes from on graphic novels, because they still aren't for me, but these stories are absolutely adorable and binge-able. The 3 star reviews are subjective because it mostly relates to my dislike for graphic novels and not necessarily the story, content and writing. I loved the characters and watching them grow, mature and take us along on their journeys.

This instalment was adorable and I loved the depth we got from the characters and the story.

An absolutely incredible historical fiction novel set in the late 1800's about a woman and her journey to be recognized as a doctor, focusing on c-section procedures. This book was simply fascinating from every standpoint. From the moment it began, I was enthralled and needed to keep listening. So many emotions are provoked throughout the book too, as a woman and as someone who has had a c-section.

As a forewarning, there are quite graphic descriptions of medical procedures, including c-section births. It definitely added another element to the story telling however. If you have any interest in women's history, the medical field, or women in the medical field, this book and The Girl In His Shadow (the first book in this series) are definitely ones to pick up!
