Drowning by T.J. Newman

From the very first few lines, I had goosebumps all over my body. As a previous flight attendant, this book was wildly triggering for so many reasons - but mostly because as a flight attendant, you train for all the worst case scenarios, but never expect them to happen. I still have so many aviation crew members in my life and this book just hit a little bit too close to my heart to not be very affected by it.
Overall, the book was wildly emotional, raw, triggering and terrifying. It's everyones worst nightmare, over and over. The whole time I just kept saying 'oh my god, what next?'. It's been a while since a book moved me this much emotionally in the way it did. Very well done.

Carrie Soto Is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Unfortunately, I just do not care about tennis. Or Carrie Soto.
While I did really enjoy the relationship between Carrie and her dad, as well as the relationships she made with Bo and Nikki, it just wasn’t enough for me to enjoy this book. There was just way too much detail about tennis and I couldn’t enjoy it or get into it.

Ready or Not by Cara Bastone

It brings me so much joy when I come across a book I had no intentions to read, that contains a trope that I really don't enjoy, and the book ends up being one of my favourites. Ready or Not will simply fill your heart with joy, no matter what. The audio for this book was phenomenal, the narrator really bringing the characters to life.

Honestly, could this book have been any sweeter? What a beautiful, heartwarming concept. It was definitely original, filled with witty banter, loveable & relatable characters, and so many moments that make you stop and think.
Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker
5.0
It seems as though I'm reading K.A. Tucker's work backwards, or maybe just all over the place? Either way, this book didn't feel anything like The Simple Wild series, which is what made me fall in love with Tucker's writing and her characters.
Say You Still Love Me was every bit of childhood love everyone dreams of. There were so many deeper elements to this story, which were amplified with the flashbacks to the characters camp days. While parts of the plot could have felt cheesy (rich girl, poor boy, etc), it was written so well and so real that it didn't feel cringe, but instead made you sympathize even more with the characters.
This book was nostalgic, a beautiful second chance, and getting what you want all wrapped into one beautiful book.

Hello, new favourite Lovelight Farms book! I'm honestly surprised anything took top spot from Lovelight, but this book just took my heart and ran with it pretty much from page one. First thing - it was an absolute delight to dive back into Lovelight Farms and all of the characters we know and adore. Getting to spend time with them is a warm, fluffy hug that I'll never get enough of.
There isn't much I can say about this book, if I'm going to be honest, because I just loved it and it's that simple. Charlie was literal perfection and I'm willing to die on this hill. You will simply swoon the entire book, not only over Charlie, but also over Nova and her passion for life and everything she does. You will need a cold shower after all the sexual tension and incredible release.
Hands down will end up in my top romances for the year. Charlie will probably easily take top book boyfriend of the year. Read it.

Adelaide by Genevieve Wheeler
I went into this book totally blind, having absolutely no idea what was in store for me when I started. Typically, I will read books without checking out the synopsis, but I usually have somewhat of an idea of what's to come, but with this book I simply took @jamie.bookworm's suggestion and ran with it. She, as usual, did not disappoint.
I listened to the audio, and I do recommend that route. This book is full of triggers, but it definitely made it feel more raw, real and relatable. All of the triggers were handled with accuracy and grace. I loved Adelaide and how honest she was. I loved the group of friends she had and how they were always there for her.
Please be gentle with yourself if you do read this book, and take the time to reflect on the emotions that you're sure to feel as you go. It's raw, but in such a beautiful way.

Happily Never After by Lynn Painter
4.0
Lynn Painter books are always guaranteed to make me laugh, swoon and sweat. She writes the most amazing banter between her characters and Happily Never After was just right. In saying that, it won't be my favourite of hers and there was a little something I can't put my finger on that's holding me back from 5 stars, but this book was still a wonderful, funny and cute read.
The plot was very original and very entertaining. The chemistry between the characters can be felt through the pages. Overall, it's a perfect palate cleanser and a book that's sure to warm you up from the inside out.

Beyond That, the Sea by Laura Spence-Ash

Truthfully, I have no idea what to say about this book. In simple terms, I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the characters and the story, but it didn't feel like anything groundbreaking happened and it might not stick with me too long. Do I think it's worth the read, I absolutely do, but it won't be topping any lists.
There are POV's from every single character more or less in this book and I found it to be a little too much. It was interesting to get the perspective of everyone, to see the story unfold through everyones eyes, but for a while it's hard to follow and doesn't allow the reader to fully connect with any one character as it bounces so much.
Most of this book is very sad, not only because it's based during wartime, but just the trials and tribulations that the family and characters endure throughout the time we spend with them. The third part of the book was a little disjointed from the rest of the book in my opinion, and I'm not totally sure I love the way it played out, but I did thoroughly enjoy it overall.
