I found the speech bubbles to be a bit too eye-catching in some pages, so it sort of spoiled the punchlines of some jokes. I was still laughing out loud though.

Not a single story felt pointless or flat. Different art styles with different perspectives on the theme of transition.

A beautiful story with even more beautiful art.
Before this one I read "Homeland: My Father Dreams of Palestine" and I found that one to be more accessible for this age group, but both are good reads.

It started really well, but it had some issues on the second half.
The author really wants to abstain from making any moral judgment on often tries to "both-sides" arguments, which is fair. Bits of it are already outdated, so I'd like to read an updated edition of this.
I still found this reflexive and it made me interested in science and evolution for the first time.
The narrator is a bit dry, though.

It made me reevaluate the way I look at family stories and their importance in keeping culture and memory alive. Also, it has some of the best illustrations I've seen in a kids' book.
