FINALLY! I've been reading this book on and off for 2 or 3 years now. It's so informative and fun to read!! it took me so long cuz it's purely science and I had to be in the mood to learn. I think you need basic science concepts in order to understand the language, I'm in STEM so it was fairly simple to read for the most part. It's not difficult though, since the author is a high school teacher who wants to make science fun and accessible to everyone. I definitely want to rewatch rick and morty now

this book was gripping enough that I finished it in two days.
Although I was expecting more out of this book, it was still enjoyable, albeit lackluster.
The premise is very exciting, but the actual events are not as much. Honestly, I did not expect the plot twist, but the buildup of events just wasn't that exciting or mysterious. I never felt that fear and dread, that I usually feel with psychological thrillers.
You can clearly tell that this is the debut novel of the author, and I'm looking forward to read more of his works in the future.

Two city-people move to a small town where their romance blossoms. It's got all the tropes! I loved it, not as cheesy as most romance books are.

ما اكذب على نفسي الكتاب جدا جدا رائع، فاق تصوراتي وتطرق لمواضيع ما اعتقدت بيتطرق لها.
I read the first chapter 2 years ago, which is about Circe being hated in her court and falling in love with simple fisherman Glaucos. Then I stopped reading and was left with the impression that this book was a love story between a mortal and an immortal.
Boy was I wrong!
There is witchery, exile, and Circe learning to respect herself and that nobody will treat you right unless you force them to. It's awesome how she creates her own power.
I shall not read any more greek mythology novels though, the way they make fun of "gods" will never sit right with me.
طول الكتاب استغفر ربي، ماتسوى والله نروح نقرا شيء ثاني احسن.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 37%.
الكتاب لليافعين فقط وغير مناسب للي اكبر من ذلك.
الكاتب يفصل في لحظات مايحتاج لها تفصيل، كأنه يبغى يزيد عدد الكلمات فقط

Goddamn it I love memoirs.

Richard Russo writes about his childhood in 1960s Gloversville with his single mom and grandparents. Gloversville was a backwater, impoverished, uneducated town that his mother -a child of the Great Depression- so desperately wanted to escape. They eventually did.
3 decades later, Russo would struggle with the guilt of leaving that town for a better life, and an inexplicable mix of feeling both like the betrayer and the betrayed. He would struggle between his love for his childhood home and the extreme aversion his mother planted in him.
This memoir is about the effects of a lifetime of unrecognized and untreated mental illness. His mother portrayed a difficult personality and behaviors, ones that her parents wrote off as "nerves", even when they knew it was more serious than that.
Russo wouldn't learn that she suffered from a severe case of obsessive-compulsive disorder until after she passed away, her life eaten by fears and anxieties.

A slow read for sure, but an excellent one.

A completely satisfying end!
Kronos finally attacks, percy takes a dip in the river styx and acquires the curse of achilles, he groups all the campers and protects the city against kronos.
Nico joins the fight, Annabeth manages to awaken Luke at the very end and he sacrifices himself, they defeat kronos, everybody recieves honor and awards. Poseidon is extremely proud of his son and it's heartwarming (they hug for the first time ever).
Percy demands that all half-bloods are claimed by their parents, and that more cabins are built in the camp, including hades!!!!! my fav!!
Percy and annabeth finally kiss for real, in front of everyone, they're official.
Rachel becomes Oracle.

Only thing I hated was how Selena was the spy and everyone forgave her. i dont care that she sacrificed herself.

Anyway. super heartwarming ending, with the campfire and racing over the hills and the camp repopulating.
