Christ the Conqueror of Hell: The Descent Into Hades From an Orthodox Perspective by Hilarion Alfeyev
this is basically just a primary source reader of the Church fathers on the subject, which is perfect, it’s exactly what I wanted
Mother Maria Skobtsova: Essential Writings by Maria Skobtsova, Richard Pevear
I have been rereading this for ten years and I will never exhaust her genius

Off the Edge: Flat Earthers, Conspiracy Culture, and Why People Will Believe Anything by Kelly Weill
I picked up the book because I knew the author in college, but it actually turned out to be a really good choice for a media apostle in training. Anyway, ban youtube.

One of the best books I have ever read. Frederick Douglass is one of those people I somehow was never assigned in school but felt like I needed to read if I was going to consider myself educated and WOW I am glad I did. A breath of fresh air to go back to the sources when all the discourse about the Civil War today is so…. garbage. Everybody had a conscience, everybody knew. “The Color Line” could have been written yesterday and certain people would find it intolerably radical. You love to see it.
