🎧 This one gripped me from the beginning. It moved at a steady pace but kind of stalled in the middle but picked up again. It’s a well developed storyline with well developed characters that were very likeable. It’s told from the point of view of Lara but I would have liked to hear from some other points of view just to give the storyline that extra edge. I was a little underwhelmed by the outcome as it’s nothing I haven’t heard before but there were some surprises along the way. The narration was engaging and held my interest throughout. Enjoyable listen that held my interest…

🎧 This one started off strong if a little drawn out. I was intrigued to see where the storyline went. I found the only character I really liked was Emerson, the others were only ok but Thalia I really disliked her and would happily punch her in the face. It felt like I completely missed the middle of the storyline and thrown into the last 1/4. It felt a little like it all went a little mad at this point and the outcome and how it all came together was a little disjointed and the author through everything at it. It was a little like starting with one book but the ending belonged to another. It was an ok listen but wouldn’t be a favourite.

🎧 Oh holy god if Chloe was a real person I might throttle her… for the first two thirds of the book that is. The constant second guessing and not seeing what’s right in front of her got exasperating. It is a slow burn for sure but the pace ramps up for the last 1/4 of the listen and it got interesting and definitely got my attention. But then the big reveal was underwhelming and a little silly. It was an ok enough listen when you got into the nitty gritty.

🎧 I’ve heard so much about this one and was excited to get stuck in. It’s a listen thats full of murder, secrets, folklore and revenge. It’s told from several points of view in a range of different timelines including diary flashbacks which gave the listen a little something extra. It starts off a bit of a slow burn but stick with it as it’s so worth the wait. The author knows how to weave an intriguing and engaging listen so much so it got me through a road trip to Galway and back. The author did an incredible job and kept my attention throughout. This one is a well developed storyline with mostly likeable characters - oh Francesca 🙈. It’s definitely one for your TBR pile.

🎧 This one tackles a tough storyline but an important one. I can see how it was intended to be suspenseful listen but it didn’t really deliver. It could also be extremely repetitive and the inner ramblings of Becky got tiresome. I didn’t find Becky’s husband John a well developed character. His character had great potential to add something more to the storyline. The storyline fell a little short as it felt like it moved at a snails pace and not much going on. It was just flat throughout with unlikable characters and an ending that left a lot of unanswered questions.

I was so looking forward to getting stuck into this one. The story unfolds within a past and present timeline. I found the pace a little slow and I was getting a little exasperated as I felt I was turning the pages but not getting there to where I needed to. At times I found it didn’t flow as easily as it could have and could switch at times without notice. The storyline itself is my kind of storyline and I found it was well developed but just needed that extra pace to add the momentum. There are some truly loveable and not so loveable characters and you can identify with their plight. I think the author tied it all up very well in the end. All in all I really enjoyed this one and will keep an eye out for this author in future.

🎧 This one is an easy listen that progressed at a decent pace and held my attention throughout. It’s a well developed storyline and characters until it wasn’t. The turn of events went off in a mad direction for the last 1/4 of the listen. Im all for twists and turns and not seeing it coming but this just got a little bizarre. It builds the suspense but I will admit the outcome through me off completely as there was no indication and usually when you look back you have the ahha moments. Interesting listen but just didn’t flow well.

🎧 DNF - Unfortunately this was a DNF for me. I gave it to 40% in but took a break as I just couldn't get into it. I found it didn't flow well and jumped around a lot to the point of confusion. I didn't care for the storyline (even though the blurb sounded great) or the characters. I just found I couldn't get myself to go back to it when there are so many other listens/reads to get stuck into.

🎧 This is my first listen by this author. I love a good police procedural read and this sounded right up my street. The storyline had great potential especially in terms of the police corruption angle but it just didn’t get there for me. It starts off at a very slow pace but it’s picks up halfway through. I found the narration engaging and it’s what held my attention when I found my mind wondering. It felt like there was something missing as it just didn’t draw me in from the many characters to get to grips with to the believably of the police procedural side of things. I did love most of the characters especially Detective Alex Markov. I love a strong female character that speaks her mind. I’d be interested in reading some more of this authors reads.

🎧 It took me awhile to get through this one as I found it a slog. It just didn’t draw me in or engage me from the get-go and I found it a bore. The storyline unfolds by switching from a past and present timeline. Can’t say I was overly fond of any of the characters and found they could have done with further development in order to get to know them. For me it lacked the building of suspense and it just trudged along at a snails pace with not much in the way of twists or excitement. Unfortunately it just wasn’t for me.
