🎧 This isn’t my usual genre but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I’m not a huge fan of ‘put it down your neck’ religious beliefs and the constant sprouting of scripture but thankfully it’s not as overbearing as the book progresses. The storyline goes off in many ways without much warning but it worked well. The characters are well developed and likeable. The storyline has many the twist and turn. It’s very well written and really portrays the era in which it’s set. The narration was engaging and the story flowed well.

🎧 This is the third in The Housemaid Series and it didn’t disappoint. I love a good book series and seeing how individual characters progress. I was lucky to have access to the audiobook and the ebook and it’s a great read in any format. The start off is slow paced but it does build the suspense. Freida McFadden is a queen at weaving an intriguing storyline and there is many the twist and turn along the way. The characters are really loveable and there individual relationships with each other is something I really liked. If you have read the other 2 you will enjoy this one also.

🎧 This one caught my interest straight away and it was an interesting read. It focuses on an important topic that some families face everyday. It’s a well developed and well written storyline but it did feel a little unbelievable when it came to some aspects of the storyline. It’s s fast paced listen that held my attention throughout. It has its likeable and unlikeable characters. I was a little disappointed with the outcome as I have some unanswered questions and I hate unfinished business 😜. It was an engaging listen and the narrator did a great job.

The blurb sounded interesting and it started off strong but it was short lived. There is a dual storyline switching from past to present but it didn’t really work. It was done without notice which at times made the storyline hard to follow. The first half of the listen was very slow whereas the second half really ramped up the pace but it just got too far fetched and ridiculous and it really lost me. This one fell short unfortunately and just didn’t work for me.

This is book 15 in the DI Gina Harte series and Ive only read a few but this one definitely didn’t disappoint. It was a humdinger of a read. Once I got the opportunity to get stuck in I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. It moved at a steady pace that was both engaging as well as building the suspense factor. I fell for all the red herrings that were thrown at me and my head was in a spin. The characters are well developed and I love when I feel like I get to know them properly. I loved DI Gina Harte and Jacob especially. There are several characters and threads that play out  in this well developed storyline. Really enjoyed this one.

🎧 I love Sue Watsons books and was so looking forward to getting stuck into this one. It moves at a slower pace than I’m used to with this author but maybe that was intentional. It does put a different kind of spin on a storyline that we have experienced before. It’s a well developed storyline with well developed characters but I can’t say if I actually liked any of them though and there were times I wanted to strangle Rachel 😳. The narration was engaging and kept my attention. When the pace picked up my head was in a spin and I was suspicious of everyone. But OMG that ending - come one Sue what a way to leave a girl hanging 🤷‍♀️😢…

🎧 DNF - I find it hard to DNF a read so when I do it goes against the grain but i just couldn't continue with this one. I gave it a couple of hours but it just didn't engage me or hold my attention. I honestly didn't know what was going on and I didn't really care to find out either.
Life is too short to continue with a read that's not grabbing you in any way…

🎧 The storyline is told from a few different perspectives and in past and present timelines. It was well done and easy to follow. The characters were well developed and likeable and I got a feel for the main character Eve more than the others. The pace needed a little oomph and needed a little more in the way of the suspense factor. The narrator was engaging and held my attention throughout. It was a solid debut read and I’d be interested in reading the next instalment.

🎧 This one started off strong and your thrown straight into the story. The storyline had great potential but it just didn’t get there. Your brought down a very long, drawn out trail that just got tedious and your itching to get to the good stuff. The plot veers off in different ways with some adding to the story but others not so much and just didn’t seem relevant. The characters were well developed and likeable enough. The narrator did an excellent job and kept me engaged. After such a wait the last 20% and the twist were underwhelming and unbelievable and really didn’t make the wait worthwhile. It was only ok.

🎧 This one delves straight in and starts off strong. Loved the fact the backdrop was Thailand as we are heading there ourselves this summer. The characters are well developed and the storyline is for about 3/4’s of the listen but it looses its way and just became silly and unbelievable. I found the outcome underwhelming and rushed as if the author needed to tie up all looses ends quickly. I found the narrator and storyline engaging up to this point.
