🎧 This one was a good listen but throughout I felt I had read/listened to it before but I think it was more along the lines of a similar read but it was so close in similarities. For someone going in blind it’s a well developed storyline along with characters that were both likeable and not so likeable. The storyline moved at a steady pace. Good listen 👂…

🎧 The Intern started off slow but it wasn’t long about upping the pace. It’s told from the point of view of 2 of the main characters - Judge Conroy who also delves into her backstory and the other is Madison Rivera. There are some interesting surprises along the way but they work well. It’s a well developed storyline along with well developed characters. The storyline moved at a steady pace and the narration was both engaging and entertaining. Enjoyed it and it definitely held my attention throughout…

This is an intriguing, suspenseful read that gives you just enough to keep you turning the pages. It’s a well developed storyline with well developed characters. It’s cleverly written and Lynes does a fantastic job teasing you with buried secrets and revelations that you can’t quite get a grasp of but you just have to find out. There is a lot going on in this book to keep you engaged. Really enjoyed this one.

🎧 I was so looking forward to this one as it’s exactly my kind of storyline but it just didn’t live up to the thriller/suspense read it’s claimed to be. The chapters alternate between 3 characters - The Girl In The Shed, Emily and Cecelia. The storyline isn’t original but still had great potential but it lacked twists, suspense and it really veers on the unbelievable. It really felt uneventful along with not much explanation for why specific characters do what they do or how certain aspects came about. The outcome and explanation was really underwhelming. The characters needed more development. I can say I really took to any of them. It’s such a pity but unfortunately this one just didn’t work for me.

🎧 This is the second instalment in the Andrea Oliver series with the first being Pieces Of Her. I loved Pieces Of Her but this one didn’t hit the same at all. It did feel like it could have been a lot shorter and at times lost my interest due to that. The story unfolds in the form of 2 storylines with one being in the past and the other present day. I did find it a little repetitive and at times went around in circles. With the past storyline it felt like it left unanswered questions and the present day storyline was a little dragged out but did have a few surprises along the way. I really liked Andrea as a character but I loved Bible with his straight talking quirky personality. It didn’t leave the same mark as pieces of her but it was still engaging and worth a listen.

🎧 This one is described as a domestic thriller but it’s more of a family drama. It has 2 narrators and 2 running timelines. The author touches upon themes of love, marriage and fidelity and mental health, among others so there is a lot to unpack. I didn’t find the characters overly likeable and they could have done with further development along with the storyline when it came to specific aspects. If I’m honest I didn’t really care for the storyline or the characters. It lacked suspense, thrills and twists in general and didnt feel like the plot was in touch with reality. Unfortunately this one wasn’t for me and I was glad to reach the end.

This is the second book in the Tyler Family Series and it’s another goodie. I’m loving The Tyler’s as much as The Drew’s. These books really pull no punches when it comes to the antics of the underworld. The storyline moves at a steady pace and really builds the suspense throughout. As always Emma Tallon weaves a well developed storyline and characters that you can’t help but love. This one is tense from the beginning and I was really questioning everyone’s actions but they really tested my trust 😜. There are many the unexpected twist and turn. I love an author that isn’t afraid to draw on real life and not always on the happily ever after. Looking forward to the next instalment.

🎧 This is a fast paced, easy listen. It engaged me from the start. The storyline unfolds through a past and present timeline with no idea how they connect but both very intriguing. There are some really likeable characters along with some unlikeable ones. It’s very cleverly written that builds the suspense but giving you enough to keep you listening. Claire Corbett and Joanne Froggatt did a superb job narrating and they both added to it in their own ways. Overall it all came together well. Good storyline and would recommend.

🎧 This one is way too long for what it is and for how un-engaging it is. I found it extremely boring and repetitive. The listener is subjected to Sophie's emotions and feelings over and over again. The storyline is told in both a past and present timeline. The plot is set mostly today, and partly 20 years ago. I didn’t see the need for the "today" side of the storyline at all. The last one or two chapters were really the only engaging ones and the big reveal wasn’t really a reveal at all. By the time we got to the outcome I was really fed up and just so glad to be finished it. I hate to say it but I found it a complete slog from start to finish. I didn’t really care for any of the characters either and found Sophie incredibly unlikable, both today and in the past as a child. Unfortunately this one really wasn’t for me and I wouldn’t recommend it.

After falling in love with The Drew Family I had to go back to where it all started with The Tyler Family series. This is the first book in the series and I’m hooked. I love storylines based on the criminal underworld and organised crime. Not sure what that says about me 🤦‍♀️😜. Emma Tallon has such a Martina Cole vibe and I love how her book series just roll into each other and get better and better. Another well develop storyline along with such loveable characters despite the circumstances. You’re thrown into the story and the pace doesn’t let up from start to finish. This is an addictive, fast paced read that I couldn’t get enough of. Now I’m off to get knee deep in the next instalment Dangerous Girl. If you like a book series and more especially ones based on organised crime then you need to look Emma Tallon up.
