A perfect example of interesting charaxters driving their own stories. The world is full of magic and mystery and im looking forward to continuing. My only gripe is that the book leads directly into the next with little resolution.

A fun and enthralling, if not gruesome, story.

While the book definitely has parts that feel like they drag on and begin to lull into boring, the exciting parts are definitely exciting and more than enough to have driven me through the 4th book in the series.

A well written disappointment.
The opening premise was of magic and mystery, the middle of the story however had very little to do with either finally picking back up around the 80% mark and ending with no resolution. It was well written and I enjoyed the prose and pacing. I imagine a good bit of my disappointment is in knowing that the series is unlikely to be finished any time soon if at all, leaving this singular entry feeling ultimately like the underwhelming prologue of an untold story.
