HEA: HEA
POV: multi 1st person
spice: several open-door spicy scenes
TWs: abandonment, adoption, attempted su*cide (off-page), childhood neglect (recounted), coercion/forced sex work, death of a parent (recounted), dubcon, neurodivergence/touch aversion, parental abuse, PTSD, rejection sensitivity dysphoria (touch averse), sex work, slut shaming, violence
Kinky Content: anal, BDSM, bondage, breath play, cum play, cumming in pants, Dom/sub dynamics, double penetration, dual penetration, dubcon, DVP, exhibitionism, finger licking good, fingering, grinding, hair pulling, hand necklaces, irrumatio, mild knife play, knotting, masturbation, MFM, MFMMM, MMFMM, nipple play, one more, oral, praise, queening, role play, squirting, teach me, voyeurism, why choose
standalone: book 3 in the MVP: Most Valuable Pack series- interconnected standalones
final thoughts: I love that this started with a playlist and omegaverse definitions. The images at the beginning (and end) of the chapters were adorable and sent reminders to me throughout the book which was so cute and unique!
There were so many great tropes in this book, and it was long, so we really got to explore all of them, get the full angst, great character development, and great story progression without feeling rushed or having plot holes. I’ll definitely be reading more from this series!
My biggest wish is more MM!! She alluded to some MM scenes, but I wanted more! To balance it out, we got a sweet FMC who is spoiled rotten by 4 vastly different MMCs who are all obsessed with her πŸ₯°

Meet our MCs!
Serena: a scared and damaged 24-year-old omega
Avery: an alpha-hole fighter who loves giving and receiving pain and is covered in tattoos (Tristan’s younger brother)
Spencer: a 35-year-old touch averse broody professor who loves to be in charge (Jonah’s college roommate/best friend)
Jonah: a 35-year-old Samoan cinnamon roll NFL player who is covered in tattoos (Spencer’s college roommate/best friend)
Tristan: a broody senator who is the pack leader (Avery’s older brother)

HEA: HFN
POV: dual 1st person

TWs: mentions of cancer, cheating
Kinky Content: dirty talk, edging, finger licking good, fingering, masturbation, oral, praise
standalone: book 3 in the Happily Ever Mishaps series- interconnected standalones
final thoughts:
This series is so cute and I know I can count on Kendall Hale for good text banter, funny friends, and a good storyline. I loved Max and Zoe’s story and couldn’t wait for them to FINALLY admit feelings for each other. I love the opposites attract of them and their dynamics.
I would’ve loved to see moments of him taking care of her while pregnant or as a new mum instead of the 7-month time jump epilogue... but it was cute. I only just started reading the accidental pregnancy trope because of the doting and caring and loving and worshipping pregnant mama and loving on her after she gives birth and we didn’t really get to see Max and all his swoony possessive obsessive glory.

HEA: no, cliffhanger
POV: dual 3rd person
spice: a few open-door spicy scenes
TWs: cheating, death of a loved one (recounted), manipulation, OW/OM drama, off page sexual assault/r@pe (sex with blacked out character who could not give consent), threats of violence to a minor
Kinky Content:
standalone: book 1 in the If Love series, book 1 in a duet
final thoughts: this book had some really great imagery, descriptions of foods I need to try, and a LOT of drama.
The characters felt a lot younger than they were and there was so much unnecessary messy drama between all of the characters that left me feeling bored. Both MCs felt unreliable and made questionable decisions. I didn’t feel like their whirlwind love made any sense... and then to find out the duet takes place 5 YEARS LATER?! Come on… that’s insane. No way.
This is great for people who love moderate heat, high drama, and intricate friendship groups.

standalone: book 1 in the Sweet Southern series
final thoughts: STOP THIS BOOK WAS SO CUTE!!!! Equal parts spicy and sweet and I loved every moment. There was just enough angst without being overwhelming. No OM drama which is something I love to see in LGBTQ+ stories- AND no homophobia?! All my favorite things.
The way Colby cares for Eli is TOO SWEET and TOO CUTE and I’m in love with them.
I loved their dynamics, the way they comforted each other, and the way they complimented each other. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!

HEA: HEA
POV: dual 1st person
spice: a few open-door spicy scenes
TWs: abandonment, allergic reaction, childhood trauma. mentions of cults, mentions of murder (recounted), parental abandonment, mentions of spousal abuse (recounted)
Kinky Content:
standalone: book 2 in The Darlings series
final thoughts: there seemed to be a lot of big triggers that I assume carried form book 1 but came out of nowhere and there was no TW page so keep the triggers in mind as they were main points of the MCs personalities.
Jasper’s nieces (the twins) saved this book for me with their antics and the side of Jasper they brough out. I liked Jasper just fine as an MMC, but I didn’t connect or believe the character of Jane at all unfortunately. I kept wanting MORE from her. And, as with ANY single parent book, I want the kids to be a big part of the story- like RIGHT THERE as main characters and I didn’t feel like Jane’s daughter was part of the story and was instead just a convenient plot point at random times throughout the story.
The ending happened so fast with lots of time jumps and no talking about how much time has passed and I was confused… but the ending/epilogues were cute.
Overall this book was good, but it was missing character development of the FMC and the interactions with the daughter

HEA: HEA
POV: dual 3rd person
spice: a few open-door spicy scenes
TWs: bullying (mild), depression/depressive episodes, drunk driving, guilt, manipulation, parental abandonment, racial micro aggressions, racism, sexism
Kinky Content: fingering, food play- whipped cream, grinding, manhandling, marking, oral, praise, shower sex
standalone: yes
final thoughts: first off- this cover is SO CUTE and the imagery of the knives facing different directions to show who the main focus for the 3rd person POV would be was so clever.
I loved the found family in this book so much!!! And the unravelling of both MC’s secrets had me on the edge of my seat waiting to learn more alongside the other characters. For such a cute romance and concept, there were some darker (triggering) elements at play regarding racism (outright and microaggressions) and the abandonment. Those left my heart feeling heavy, but the side characters made up for it and helped bring levity.
I will say I really really really don’t like when there are open door scenes with a MC and someone who is not the other MC in a book even if they aren’t officially together yet. I felt like it added nothing to the story except for giving me an ick I had to bring myself back from.

final thoughts: okay so I need to preface this review saying that when I first got this book, I didn’t realize it was a bully or high school romance and those are 2 genres I don’t typically read… so I’m trying to keep that bias out of my review as much as I possibly can! PS. Both MMCs are of legal age when the romance aspect begins so at least there’s that πŸ˜…
This very much read as if it was a college romance in both location and characters- the private school has a campus where the students live, they have a dining hall, all the typical college campus spots which made it easy to age these characters up in my head. Yes, the characters made some dumb moves (especially during the prank wars) but overall, their behavior wasn’t very β€œoh that’s so high school of them” which is refreshing.
Listen- I know this was a dark bully romance, but I was expecting groveling, and I got almost none (cue the crying from me). The over the top jealous, possessive, obsessive behavior was really well written, and his character stayed really consistent throughout the whole book while giving some surprises along the way. His character was great, his obsession was intense, and his growth was realistic to the character. I love the β€œsoft only for you” trope and he definitely fits that bill.

I loved their relationships with the side characters and can’t wait to dive more into their stories. I hope to see more of a HEA for them in the rest of this series.
As with any book where one of the MCs (usually the MMC let’s be honest) messes up, I want more groveling !! but at least he was a sweetheart with those hurt/comfort scenes which I love πŸ₯°

I loved the small but mighty gestures Wesley performs for Josie throughout their relationship (platonic and beyond). He was such a sweet character, and I loved seeing the character progression both individually and as a couple. I love the support they both had for each other even when they only said what they thought the other wanted to hear.

I LOVED the banter and relationship between Everly and Hardy. The slowest of slow burns made them getting together so sweet but not without me yelling at Hardy for the majority of the book. I laughed out loud several times during this book, which isn’t always the case with romcoms, but Meghan Quinn’s characters always make me laugh.
