i liked it, took me a while to get through but that’s probably only cause this was ebook and i prefer reading physical copies
the loop system was unique to any other i’ve read or seen, so that was fun :)

thoughts while reading

4%: i bet laptop dude is the one stuck in a loop and that’s why he’s kinda grumpy
30%: why don’t they try getting miles’ mum involved
40%: well clearly ms devereux
is a time-traveler herself
45%: i suspect the way to break the loop is something to do with
max
62%: or maybe
barrett has to tell her mom what happened to her
63%: did miles plan this?
66%: NOT what i was expecting.
here was me going “oh! they just triggered a memory of something from before they started looping” but no.
ok then
70%: no but what if they are though? maybe
barrett and miles burned in the frat on the night they first kissed
72%: there was very little chance of cole walker ever apologising to your face
74%:
but it did say studying!! something changed!
88%: now we’re cooking!!
92%: please no. please let him be joking
97%: THANK GOD

"I never thought I could be this turned on in a library," he says.
"Clearly, you're not reading the right books."
jfjfkksjsk that’s all i’m saying girl 😏

98%: gladys is a slay

if this is why booktok doesn’t like adam then i do not understand that at all. i’m assuming there must be much more to it than that, seen as everyone hates him. as a sister, my brothers absolutely come before an ex who gave up on our relationship. adam didn’t know
she’d end up “dead”
, so honestly he probably made the right decision

ahhh some of the characters and situations made me so angry at times, so author’s job well completed! this is a book about racial injustice, and succeeds greatly in making the reader feel the injustice in their soul

thoughts while reading

p8: hehe jackson and aimee are cute together
p31: i am incredibly offended on jackson’s behalf
p60: dry eileen is very quickly growing on me, she sounds like an excellent foster mum
p73: honestly chantelle makes an excellent point, we need more diversity in school reading

‘My little cousin in Birmingham got killed and he was just eleven. It’s like, if you make it to twenty you’re doing well.’
💔😭

p100: NO

I hate this school so much sometimes, but the truth is, I'm actually pretty scared of leaving. This is all I've known for ages and what if I don't figure out what I'm supposed to do with my life?
damn that’s so relatable

I remember how my mum would run into my room and pull me out of bed, so she could hide behind me. Like I was some sort of human shield.
that is so freaking messed up dude

p250: this whole incident is really pissing me off. so blatantly racist, and this is gonna change jax’s life forever. next time he gets an unsolicited background check, this is gonna pop up even though none of this was his fault
p282: what the actual hell is wrong with harrison 😡
p307: nah i suspect that
eileen wants to make the placement more permanent

i’m not used to this style of writing but i loved this! kept me engaged and mystery solving right til the end

thoughts while reading

p10: ah, this is where the potential for romance kicks in
p15: oh please tell me it is for cady! i might cry if the rose is for someone else! 😭
p30: i like the imagery lockhart uses
p73: gat really does seem like a bit of an ass, almost like he’s getting it on with whatever girl is right in front of him
p130: what is going on with mirren?
if she’s chronically ill that’s really gonna suck

p135
Why are they lying?

p137: cady must be starting to remember something, maybe a vague feeling, cause that is a semi-specific statement to make. and what is going on with aunt carrie?
p139: shoot wait,
is mirren pregnant? did she lie about never having sex or…? hmm, technically mirren only said she never had a bf, didn’t say anything about the sex part
p143: shoot
is cady just hallucinating johnny? did he really die in summer fifteen?
p190: NO
not the dogs
😭
p195: somehow i have a funny feeling that
all the liars died apart from cady. that would explain why she’s so traumatised
p201: I FREAKING KNEW IT

i loved half of this for the chronic illness rep and the other half just made me uncomfy. the way kaiden talks mostly just makes me go ew and it’s very graphically sexual, i had to skip like two chapters

thoughts while reading

p6: a step-sibling relationship? i’m here for it, haven’t read one of these since Did I Mention I Love You?, and 15 year old me loved that
p63: have to say i’m not currently impressed with kaiden’s behaviour. what’s your issue dude?
p66: a better power move would be to still buy more food, but with your own money. please try to eat girlie 🥺
p131: i’m kinda disconcerted by kaiden’s bluntness and teasing
p186: ew i would not be having this conversation
p195: this is not a good idea. once kaiden has satisfied his curiosity with you he’ll go back to ignoring his feelings for the foreseeable future and you’ll get irritated and it’ll just be a thing
p243: if anyone woke me up to try sleep with me i would probably slap them. even my husband, don’t disturb my sleep
p292: 😡 i will swing for rachel

this is certainly a unique plot to me! i loved mia’s kindheartedness despite her upbringing, and ven’s compassion and refusal to harm any innocent lives. not a lot of dragons yet, but there’s maybe hope for some in the next book?
i received dragonsbane as a eArc, my first ever! thank you so much brady!

thoughts while reading

5%: this is strange
19%: mia loves climbing? she’s my kinda girl (or my brother’s more specifically if we’re being honest)
22%: omg why do they know him why do they know him!?? i’m almost certain this is not good news. what did ven’s parents get up to with the facility? and what is
tem’s
motive for being involved?
25%: yeah this unfiltered violence is exactly what zein was worried about
32%: ohh my god they’re dead? ✨no!✨
(this is a social media reference by the way, just for anyone who doesn’t live on the internet)
cause two can keep a secret if everyone else is dead 🫡💀
63%: ooft busted
65%: noooo yubo can’t
have her blood! he’ll exploit it for something!
95%: yeah ok, of course
mia’s dead now
, not
96%: shoot maybe
she is
