This was a re-read for me. I read this back in like 2009/2010. But I still love Ellen Hopkin’s writing.
Also please look up trigger warnings. This is a very dark book.

I love the humor Alix E. Harrow puts in these books. These are such fun twisted fairytale re-imaginings. I really enjoyed this and I’m hoping there will be many more in the series.

Yet another solid re-read. Still fun, quick and full of magic. Although this one might be my least favorite thus far.

Read these back in middle school and really enjoyed them. Excited to be re-reading them. They’re fun, magical, quick little reads!

I’m giving this about a 4.5. I finished this about a half hour ago and I’ve been trying to collect my thoughts on it. To my surprise, I actually really enjoyed it.
But for the people calling this a love story, did you read the same book I did? Sure there were a few romantic moments. But in the end, this book was about capitol control, and what Snow will do to get what he wants.
I enjoyed learning how The Hunger Games came to be The Games we see in the original trilogy. I also enjoyed meeting Coriolanus Snow before he became the evil President we have all come to know. That being said, this wasn’t a redemption story at all. Definitely his villain origins. Or at least the start of them.
Now please Suzanne Collins, give us all what we really wanted. Haymitch’s year in The Hunger Games.

Did this add much to the series? No. But I enjoyed it anyways. Down Among the Sticks and Bones is my second least favorite book in the Wayward Children series, that being said I do still really like it though. In this little novella we’re back in the Moors with Jack. We get a little more background on some things that happen in Down Among the Sticks and Bones. This novella gave us what was promised and honestly I liked being back in the Moors with Jack. Hence the five stars.

This was actually pretty good. It kept me hooked from start to finish and I was definitely yanked in a few different directions. I wasn’t completely shocked on the whodunnit, but I didn’t really guess it either. Would definitely recommend if you’re into YA Thrillers.
