Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire

I didn’t like this one as much as Every Heart a Doorway, but it was still an interesting read. We get to learn about Jack and Jill in Down Among the Sticks and Bones. How they were brought up and how they ended up at their door. We learn all about the world they get thrust into. Which I loved learning about. The world was so dark, bleak, and immensely depressing. But definitely makes you understand Jack and Jill more.

I read the original version of this book back when I was either in middle school or high school. As a 26 year old this book is objectively bad. It’s rather corny and ridiculous. But honestly this is probably how my text messages looked when I was a Sophomore. The coolest thing about this book is the format for sure. Although the original version is much better, since it’s instant messages.

This is the first audiobook I’ve ever listened too. I feel like I might have missed some stuff at the beginning while I was getting used to the format. But all in all I really enjoyed this book. It was a pretty unique fantasy. I loved the African influences. Definitely recommend. The audiobook was really great too. (Although I don’t have much to compare it too).

What the fuck. What the actual fuck. I did not see that coming. Every little detail in this book mattered. I didn’t manage to guess anything. Where I thought this book was leading was so wrong. I highly recommend this thriller.
Side note: I really enjoyed that this whole book revolved around psychology. As a psychology major this really I interested me.

I thought this book wasn’t going to be very good in the beginning. It seemed so slow. But the twist it took at the end. Holy fucking shit.

Forever waiting for Todd to show up. Also this was a re-read for me. Read these books back in middle school. But honestly I barely remembered this one.
