Graphic novel memoir about a Detroit man, his broken family, and a traumatic part of his life.

Loved the artwork. Did not love the font/text. It was kinda hard to read.

I wanted more but also it wouldn’t have been appropriate for this particular story. Loved the photographs and updates at the end.

This was ok. Def not my favorite in the series thus far.

Josh and Robyn are on Mackinaw City when they come across mummies from Egypt. This felt rushed and almost too nonsensical/magical. It also needed more about Mackinaw in it.

Still cute though.

You have to read the first one, Gone to See the River Man before you read this one. Sometimes you can read a sequel as a standalone but this is not the case as the stories are very much interwoven.

Almost none of the characters have redeeming qualities so get used to being disgusted with them every page.

There’s 3 MMC and 1 FMC. They are going down the river to see the River Man. A lot of gross stuff happens on the river.

This is a continuation of the Lords series with Tristian, Killian, Rath and Story.

Mrs. Crane plays a bigger role and is pretty much the best character of the whole thing.

We still are searching for Ted and finally wrap that storyline up.

Also the author didn’t wait for the epilogue to ruin the ending IYKYK.

Knocked down some points for some gross terminology in the smut parts. So repetitive.

This has what the first book lacked, finality.

Still following Audrina, Arden, and Sylvia living at Whitefern and how they deal with the patriarchy, a person with special needs, and an unreliable memory.

Things seem to be going well but then Arden just has to be a jerk about everything and try to run the house like Audrina is his child.

Then things just keep getting worse from there.

I don’t know if I like this one or not.

I don’t like most of the characters. Actually I only liked 1 character now that I think about it. The FMC is unreliable and the MMCs are just the worst. They are sexist, abusive, incompetent, and weak.

I am looking forward to an actual resolution in the sequel because the ending of this one was totally underwhelming.

The story is of a girl trying to live up to her dead sisters perfection in a creepy run down mansion. Her cousin is evil, her dad is awful, her mom and aunt are bitter and boring.

Imagine if Hallmark tried to be edgy and write a spicy romance about serial killers but also the writers really didn’t know much about serial killers or sex.

That’s what this is.

The plot is flat, the characters repetitive and predictable, and the actual writing needs some ✨razzle dazzle✨

Another case of the general public hyping up a book that is probably going to end up a lame Netflix series.

I really liked this but it had too many plot lines at the end that could have been fleshed out more or included in a later book.

There were parts where it dragged or the spice was repetitive. And some of it was just too much degradation and bodily fluids.

Overall it’s a great series and I am going to continue.

The characters flaws are A LOT in this one.

But the scenes are nicely spicy and well written.

I also didn’t find any errors in the book which I appreciate.

That being said, I got tired of Story the FMC very quickly. Shes a victim for sure but never learns to break free of that. But there’s 2 more Lords books so hopefully she gets a backbone.

I’m currently Team Rath.

50 stars. 100 stars. 1 million stars.

The sequel to Firekeepers daughter. Particularly important to those of us surrounded by Ojibwe culture.

Love the inclusion of native language, customs, everything.

Brilliant. Amazing. A story needing to be told.

I impatiently wait for a third book from this author.
