The Girl With All the Gifts by M.R. Carey
5.0
4.5 hungries, I mean, stars, because sometimes I kinda get tired with Justineau for her 24 hours compassion when someone is trying to help her alive, to help everyone left alive. she's too focused with her own moral values, almost like Caldwell but not that cold, and yes some moments it kicks my enjoyment.
the ending also kicks me in the gut. I adored it because for me it is memorable and tickles my point of view. it does something with inevitableness for me.
happy that I can stumble on another poignant book! :3

Herding Cats by Sarah Andersen
3.0
just finished this in a lightning quick. I was hoping for more cats stories since the title is Herding Cats and, well, the cover shows cats. it should be Herding Artist then. and yes, I'm a bit dissapointed with this though the writer encouragement is highly appreciated! fellow artists should try this book.
her drawings are on point, and abso-fudging-lutely shows the real life moments, mine included, in adorable strip comics, aw! but I just can't bring myself to laugh in a real hilarious mode and some drawings have been posted in second book, so...

I've Got My Eyes on You by Mary Higgins Clark
3.0
3.5 stars.
I enjoy.enjoy.enjoy the tensions Clark throw in the beginnings.
I definitely LOVE the short-paged chapters. it encourages me to keep munching the story.
I know it has neat word-building, absolutely chop off the unnecessary things to talk, and I partly enjoy it sometimes because I gain solemn focus to follow the story and characters.
I'm not used with Clark's super clean, straighforward, and no elaborated words; like she goes a then she does b and she says c. next chapter, he plays d, he talks e and he wish f. repeat. partly, I wish Clark can add more, especially about Aline's parts and emotions (!!!) because I think she's supposed to be the main character from the synopsis along with Detective Mike.
I'm kinda sad that the tensions drop in the middle... after 30-40% progress I get bored for a while. thankfully in 60% and up, it gains momentums. I just go on with the flow. no more heart-gasping moments that tackle me out of nowhere like Jamie's or Alan's beginning parts. I kinda miss them, lol.
so yeah, this is an okay read.

Clockwork Boys by T. Kingfisher
4.0
perfect. if only there is no romance shaped like triangle. but hey, still, this is a great work of fantasy.
it makes me laugh here and there.
and thank you for Grimehug the gnole. I adore him.
and thank you for no unnecessary brick loads of words that still builds the story on point, crystal clear and absolute magical.
