I wish I could give this book 6 stars.

I love memoirs. I love hearing people they’ll their stories and own their truths. And Paris is amazing. She’s such an inspiration. Also, this story is heartbreaking.

Lots of things can be true at once.

I love Kate Quinn’s work and couldn’t wait to read this.

While the book was slow to start, the writing was impeccable (as expected).

What thrilled me the most was the wonderful and unexpected LGBTQ storyline.

I didn’t love this book but I liked it a lot.

Wow. This was super research heavy but so good. I consider myself educated in this area and I still learned so much.

This book is pretty dated. It’s obvious that it was written over eight years ago. There were definitely some laugh out loud moments, and I enjoyed hearing her personal journey but blatant racism and rape jokes are just never OK.
