Yozo Oba was a scum on this earth. He fooled with a lot of people which led to those people taking their lives. This man was hollow from the inside out. He grossed me out with his behavior towards women. He used all of them for his own gains. In the end, he got what he deserved. An empty hollow life like himself.

What a treat to read for a horror fan like myself! I was hooked from start to finish. I liked how the first chapter tied up with the last. All the stories were eerie and goosebumps inducing. Looking forward to reading more from Suzuki-san. Definitely gonna buy a hardcover copy if I could find one.

Most of the myths mentioned in the book aren't even myths, feels like something completely made up. Some of the facts can be easily googled up and proven false. Some facts are outdated or wrong.

I always desired to read some of Tagore's work and this book provided me that opportunity. But the stories that came across were quite depressing and some were a bit misogynistic, especially The Babus of Nayanjore.
The story plot was okay but often the endings to the stories were quite depressing and the characters fate was simply left to the imagination of the reader.
I read books to feel better not even more depressed and sad. By not reading this, you aren't missing out on anything.
