I don’t really know how to put into words how absolutely MAGICAL this book was. The poetry translations are divine and the way Meador writes about both Enheduanna and Inanna is just, perfect. Ancient Sumerian lesbian goals tbh

The way it was put together was a little confusing, and it ended really abruptly but I did enjoy it. Pretty informative.

Don’t ever want to read a memoir that isn’t this book.

This was so wonderful. I’d forgotten the joys of short stories and particularly of Bradbury. Definitely was a little unsettling some of the stories that made me feel quite uneasy and a bit paranoid about the dark, but I loved it. My only problem with Bradbury’s short stories is that they’re so delicious and so easy to get into it feels like when it ends it’s never enough.

4 stars purely for the anthology of water. That section was, beyond describable and hit me right in the chest with every passing page.
The initial half was a bit hard to get into and it didn’t totally feel like it made sense as a whole but I want to read more Carson for sure.

Ooph. Even though I know the story of Oedipus and I know what’s going to happen I was still HOPING. Congrats to Natalie Haynes for breaking my heart again.

Did not finish book.
I got to page 8 before I just couldn’t do it. You don’t need to make the Greeks interesting or funny, the material is already there. I just can’t face reading about Gaia using Pinterest and Apollo being “a mood”.
