Those short comic stories are just… not good. I know they’re supposed to be for kids, but some of the other children Star Wars stuff is amazing. There’s no excuse for the low quality dialogue (Jar Jar was borderline incomprehensible), the uninspired jokes and the crappy drawings in here. The Clone Wars Battle Tales volume was so much better than this.
I don’t think I’ll pick up any other Star Wars Adventures comics. They just don’t hold to more recent additions…

Adventures isn’t my fave THR comics but it’s absolutely essential imo if you want to understand Lula and Zeen.
Talking about those two, they were an obvious couple from the get go, but I’m glad the author acknowledged it.
Also how old is Maz??? Women’s as old as Yoda I swear 😅

It’s giving just enough of a glimpse to what eventually happens on Starlight.
I really liked Keeve — and not just because we have the same haircut 😂 Seeing Reath was cool too. I really like the appearances here and there from Jedi we’ve seen in other books, alongside the ones introduced here.

I really liked this first volume. The multi-media release of THR allows for some great deep dive into different characters despite the sheer number of those introduced. Cavan Scott does a great job tackling trauma with Skeer.
And Avar 🥰 I love her! Great to see glimpses of Vernestra and Imri too! Definitely a great way to start this

The story for this book is kind of a version of the Valo fair for younger readers. It’s not a retelling, but it takes place during the exact same time frame and includes some of the same characters. It’s interesting, if a little hard to follow at times because you’re trying to pinpoint where is everyone while this and that is happening.
I love Lula and Zeen a lot more now that I have the background for their relationship (they are a couple, change my mind).
Ram is 100% autistic-coded and you cannot convince me otherwise. I love this boy. He is my son. I shall protect him forever.
I’m always a tiny bit disappointed when I don’t get to see Elza – especially since we know he is there!!! – but I won’t hold it against the author. And considering DJO’s adult novel left me a little disappointed, maybe it’s better if he doesn’t touch my favourite…

The little thread bringing all 4 stories together is fine, I guess. It’s cute. But the first story (Anakin and Obi-Wan) is the only one that was remotely interesting. The other three were just filled with bad art and worse dialogue.
