this book made me cry multiple times!!! both because i was mourning the tragic gay experience of my youth, and bc i was the sonya in that experience. if i had this book my freshman year of high school, maybe things would have gone differently. maybe i would have been braver, or loved myself enough to love someone else. i hope this book helps the other little sonyas and coleys out there, because it really will all be okay.
