Death Row Welcomes You: Visiting Hours in the Shadow of the Execution Chamber by Steven Hale

While I am happy to have had a look behind the scenes at those on death row, I found this very unsettling and sad.  We forget that convicted murderers are human beings, people with parents, friends, etc.  I am not for the death penalty and this book while interesting was so very hard for me to read.

This was a nice read. The main character, French, was the best. I would have liked to have known more about her. The book starts a bit slowly and picks up speed in the second half. I've never heard of a "hate house" and can't believe the lengths that people go to to irritate others. For me, that was the scariest part of the book…..what human beings are capable of and how far they will go! Lots of suspense and thrills in this book that you won't see coming. I was a wee bit disappointed in the end, maybe a second book is coming?

Thank you Book Sirens and Mr. Foster for providing a free ARC and the chance to read and review this book.

I enjoyed this very much.  I love Graham Masterton and don't know how i missed this one.  The narration was outstanding and the creep factor fairly high.

This was a recommended book from this site and I did enjoy it.  It may be me, but I wasn't satisfied with the ending.  It left unanswered question  unless I missed something along the way.  Still an entertaining read.

I enjoyed this book tremendously. Mr. Smith's incredible life story had me hooked from the start. The writing was so amazing that while I was reading I felt like I was out in the wilderness seeing what was being described. It was a bit long winded at times but for me, that made it more endearing and allowed me to sit a bit longer in a log cabin in the wilderness! There are so many lessons to be learned in Mr. Smith's stories, I feel a second reading will teach me even more. Most importantly, to choose your dream no matter what others think or say. Anything is possible and starts with one baby step. I am so happy that Mr. Smith lives his dream and shared his life with us in these words. He is a very humble, brave man who had the courage to do it his way no matter how rough the road was. Bravo to him. Thank you netgalley and the publisher for providing this book free of charge in exchange for my honest review.

As soon as I started reading this book I felt like it was written about me and for me.  The experiences that the author shared, especially from her childhood were scenes from my life.  I understand so much better why I always feel so disconnected and in my head.  I put myself there!  Now I know how to get out and it's easier that we think.  The author gives us easy guidance to start now and you will see and feel a difference.  The book is well written and moves along at a nice pace.  There are some practices to try but nothing crazy or time consuming.  If you want a better understanding of why you are the way you are and how to reconnect with your soul purpose, this is the book for you.  I will surely take the author's advice and read it again.  Thank you netgalley and Post Hill Press for allowing me to read and review this great book.

There are not enough words in the human language to express how much I loved this book!!!  I could easily close my eyes and hear so many of the dogs that I've had saying these words. We always have that one special one, yet they are all special in their own way. Dogs bring nothing but pure joy and unconditional love to their people. I believe that's what they come to this Earth for and obviously the author feels the same way. The illustrations are beautiful.  Haven't cared for many hospice animals I absolutely love that the author included images of disabled dogs. I believe this book would be appropriate for children to help them understand what going to the rainbow bridge means and that it's not something to stay sad about.  I recommend this book for anyone any animal lover dog, cat,  any animal lover will get a smile and warm feeling from this book and enjoying the sweet images.  Thank you #netgalley and the publisher for providing a free ARC for an honest review.

What We'll Burn Last is a mystery that shows how secrets and lies linger for years and destroy families.  It unfolds slowly, so slowly that I almost gave up.  I'm glad I stuck with it, the second half of the book moves at a much better pace.   This is an enjoyable read for a rainy afternoon.  Thank you to #netgalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.
