A Funny Life by Michael McIntyre

I already really like Michael, and I've been trying to get into more audiobooks lately, so this seemed like a good way to pass a few hours whilst working or going for walks. Michael's charming personality and sense of humor really shine through just as well as they do during his stand up shows, yet the final 'arc' (if a real person's life can be an 'arc') really shocked me altogether. A wonderful read.

You know what, fuck it. I think Ouran High School Host Club is PEAK literature. The amount of love that has been poured into this book that’s shown through the friendships of the members and their classmates? Absolutely incredible. It’s rare in a romance that I feel the friendships are really prioritised consistently, but Ouran really does it. I love this series, I love the characters and I think about them all the time. Just the most tooth rottenly sweet found family I could have asked for.

I literally had no idea what was going on for the first half of this book (I typically don’t read such high sci-fi/fantasy stuff), but once I let myself just read through it SLOWLY, I really enjoyed it, especially after the first 200 pages. Pretty fun stuff, excited to check out the rest of the series.
