The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez
4.25
Abby just never fails to give me a good romance book. Whenever I feel like I need a good dose of romance, she's my go-to! Her characters all have to be adorable or what??? I love Sloan and Jason! I'm usually not the biggest fan of insta-love tropes but I really enjoyed this. I may have even shed a tear a couple of chapters towards the end.
ALSO, Kristen and Josh were here!!! I knew they were familiar!

500 pages of abuse and stockholm syndrome and half of it with Zade stroking his ego by feeling superior because he be killing pedophiles while raping and abusing the woman of his dreams in his down time
The Bodyguard by Katherine Center

I finished this book in about 5-6 hours and am I smiling like an idiot??? YES. I never knew I needed a grumpy fmc with a sunny mc! I loved them together. I love how Jack was able to melt all of the coldness that was Hannah and I appreciate how it was told in her pov because you can actually experience the changes in her. The moment she started letting him in, her character really came out. Jack is just a ray of sunshine. Sure, he did have some dark backstory, but that didn't stop him from being the charm that he is. Reading this book felt so much like watching a classic 90's romcom movie. It's like playing out before my eyes and the whole reading experience was so fun. I had butterflies!
Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson
4.5
I'm only deducting 0.5 stars here because of the lack of Ravi Singh! Overall, this is just as engaging in terms of the whole investigation thing as the first book. I didn't really expect for things to turn out the way they did and I loved that! I love when I don't catch up on things. I'm so sad for Stanley and we didn't really know him but that one chapter really kinda made you feel for him. And Pip is turning darker, is she???? I just hate when he pushes Ravi away, I hope it gets better in the third book. Fingers crossed!
Flawless by Elsie Silver

I'm surprised, I kinda dig the whole cowboy thing. Reading this makes me wanna watch a cowboy romance all of a sudden! It's a typical romance but I still enjoyed it. Definitely not gonna be the last Elsie Silver book that I'm gonna read. (Cade Eaton, my eyes are on you)
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
4.5
I love this!! Just feels abit surreal how a 17-year old is more clever than the police and managed to solve a murder through her school project???? I guess because YA... but still enjoyed the roller coaster this took me. I loved that everyone was literally a suspect and that I didn't really see what's coming because everyone had a motive. All the clues coming together at the end of it was so satisfying. Mind-blown. I love Pip and Ravi AAAAHHH can't wait to read more of them.
P.S. The dog dying was so unnecessary I HATE IT 😭

A Deal with the Elf King by Elise Kova
3.75
Not entirely a bad book, but the whole magic system was so confusing. I don't think I ever grasped the whole context of what they were doing. The world-building was just a mess. I'm not sure if it's because it's difficult to do it on a stand-alone book. King Eldas and Luella are okay. I'm always down for a hard-headed fmc with her cold, distant mmc. I love that they get to end up together, but they sure took their time. I was actually starting to get annoyed.
Overall, it's a 3.75. I don't think I'm gonna read the other books in the same world. Just wasn't a fan of the world itself.

Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver

This was alright at most. I actually appreciated that albeit it being dark, there's also times you get giggly. Not with the murders, but they had their sweet moments. I also did not expect it to be abit slow-burn, really thought they would go at it the second they laid eyes on each other so I actually liked that. It seemed more genuine. Darkness finding darkness. They fit each other so well.

I love their dynamics together. The tension is there. I love that they were able to help each other figure themselves out. I also love the banters. It's kinda typical romance.
The Housemaid Is Watching by Freida McFadden
4.0
At this point, I think Freida can serve me the most cliché plot twists and recycled plot but I'd still eat it up. The Housemaid is Watching is definitely not a necessary sequel, but I also liked reading about Millie and Enzo one more time. I've always loved the idea of them together eversince the first book so them being married here was great for me. I am not gonna lie, I was praying so hard for Enzo to not disappoint me here. When it comes to Freida, it's always the husband... so I was very anxious about that, but also knowing Enzo from the last two books, I did trust him. He was abit frustrating in this book, the lies were so unnecessary and also to lie about it with Millie??? Really? If there 's anyone who could have understood better, it would be her. The plot twist was kinda ok, I didn't catch it to be honest, I was leaning more on Nico but Ada was believable. Also the epilogue, it being the "housemaid" being the murderer was kinda expected but of course, I ate that up (again). I just wish there was more on Suzette, I feel like Freida could've played more on that part rather than her just being the "fall woman". Oh, and I love the little cameo from The Housemaid! Cece!!! And Nina being mentioned too.
Overall, I ate and gobbled this up. Solid 4-stars.
