Mile High by Liz Tomforde

This is a solid romance but it pales in comparison to the second book in the series; go read that one first
The Right Move by Liz Tomforde

This is one of the best contemporary romance I've ever read. Even though the plot isn't over a long period of time, the author really devotes every moment to proving why these two are perfect for each other. It's so compelling in every little action they do to show their love for each other. They are both compelling and complex characters, as are the side characters; I want more of all of them. The world feels rich and real. The story is messy like life without feeling contrived or forced; the issues they face neither feel trivial nor overdramatic. I genuinely have very few criticisms. I smiled through the whole book and even shed a tear or two
The addition of Deaf culture and language was my absolute favorite part. I loved how casually it was added yet how emotionally impactful it became in it's subtleness. I have sought out so many d/Deaf romances and they have basically all let me down; they tend to act like deafness is a trial to be overcome OR like it's not a big deal at all and interacting with the hearing world is easy. While the main characters are not deaf, the way they interact with the language is so refreshing; there is a genuine awe and joy in the beauty of ASL which I've never seen expressed in fiction

I genuinely forgot I was reading this because I thought I finished it... This book is very good at what it's trying to do, but it didn't grab me, I don't think it's my taste. If you are really into the nitty gritty details of a magic system, then I recommend it. If you want to be swept away and deeply invested in the characters or plot, this is maybe not it. It feels a lot like an LitRPG with focus on the mechanics of learning and gaining skills. The world is also really great, I wanted even more of it. I won't continue the series, but I'm glad I finally read this
Shout out to the mc for being so oblivious to her own romance though, I don't even think she knows she's ace/aro, she's just so focused on school she doesn't care

Bad Alpha by Kathryn Moon

This is not really a romantic book, but I love Eve enough to make up for it. I think you could argue she's aromantic which makes me like it more. I also like that everyone in the pack sees her as the leader without a doubt
Lola & the Millionaires: Part Two by Kathryn Moon

I still wanted Wes to have even more time and focus but I'm satisfied, well executed book
Lola & the Millionaires: Part One by Kathryn Moon

I tore through this, it's very compelling. My one issue is that Wes should've been the first alpha.... C'mon she makes a speech about how it doesn't make sense nobody picks him and then she picks someone else too. I know it'll happen in the next book, but the point is it would be so satisfying emotionally for Wes to come first for once AND for her to recover from her trauma with the one alpha who feels safe despite his size. I know he's deliberate and is probably going to be the last one but I want him to be the priority for once okay? He's been alone so long, he deserves the big sweeping romance and deserves to be special
[will update review if part two changes my mind]
Update: finished book two and I'm satisfied

This author's books lack the "why" between the characters. I don't understand what is drawing them together. They're instantly attracted but why. They can't get over each other but why. Show me why they are meant to be and you're not allowed to use lust as the sole reason

I wanted something fun like Dungeon Crawler Carl and this is just pure bleakness. I need some whimsy with my death and destruction

I can just tell this author and this series are not for me. Can't stand the writing and there's no buildup to the pairings
