The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas
Did not finish book. Stopped at 54%.
Did not finish book. Stopped at 54%.
Honestly, I’m having serious issues tying to finish her work and there are only two reasons why I haven’t abandoned this book altogether.
#1, being that I believe every book written deserves to be finished and
#2, A really good friend recommended this book to me and I’m a stickler for making my friends happy.
But for all intended purposes, this book just isn’t for me.
The plot is being unlawfully dragged out and the female protagonist’s aversion to believe to what she sees with her own fucking eyes is -at this point, killing my very valuable brain cells.
I mean clearly this man is in love with you. Also, so many tropes are being played out in book, so far I’ve read 54% of this book @20 February 2023, 20:00pm.
And I have seen enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity and the slowest fucking burn that I have ever seen in my 21years.
The plot is good, but honestly all the romance books I’ve read so far, have feed me so deliciously that I simply can’t stand this book. Now, if this were my first time with this genre and this book was also my first read in this genre as well, then I would have no problems getting through it, but it’s isn’t and it’s greatly suffering for it

I would like to start off by saying long-distance girlies are our soldiers in the field, cause they really are stronger than the rest. Which brings me to say that this back and forth between Lindsay and Joe was designed for God’s strongest soldiers, plus the story really was different from other three, seeing as the either almost went without the help of the WMC, and I know that was mostly because Jil was murdered in Book 3, which meant bringing a new lawyer type of fill in her role without acknowledging the fact that we as readers felt her death would have been writer’s suicide, so thank you Mr James Patterson, for noticing the plight of the readers and taking a break with the WMC. That said I love Yuki Castelleano, and I have truly been waiting for the introduction of another woman of colour. I loved this story, I recommend it completely, Stunning 😍 🤩

Okay, so I would like to say this is obviously, even though Jil was brutally Fucking murdered and her piss take of a husband is roaming instead of being locked up in prison. This is still a five star read. I would also like to point out that this was the most emotional read of this series thus far, and not just because of Jil but in general, from hateful racist killers and killings, who couldn’t past their own hate and stupidity. To the introduction of Lindsay’s very dysfunctional father, (who BTW, deserves his own story outright) to Linsday’s finally rekindling her love life with the beautiful and stunningly perfect Joe Molinari. God, I love them and little romantic gesture on Lindsay’s part was giving that scene airport scene from Jonas LA (and you that scene had me in a chokehold at age 10). Anyways big ups to Lindsay to finally getting some, because if anyone deserves it, it’s goddamn Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer. Also big ups on Cindy Thomas for getting it as well, with our holiness Pastor Aaron Winslow. I love when my girls are getting it 😏

First of I hate racism, like is there any real need to hate someone based off the glut of their skin?? Also a lot of this could do easily fall under blaming someone else for actions, because that’s exactly what Frank Snr was doing, but to blame and entire race and then proceed to enact your revenge seems completely idiotic. Then we have Frank Jnr, and honestly at first I had pity for him and genuinely wanted him to succeed in life, but I think that’s just because I reading about from Lindsay POV. Also fuck him and his father, for the lives that they took and especially those stupid attempts they made ok two member of WMC (Women’s Murder Club) Did really think they could kill Claire and Cindy MF Washburn and Thomas, respectively and get away with it?? My girls, My MF Girls. Also Jil, you deserve the world and you need to ask yourself who that baby is for, cause you can’t be going through that many miscarriages for a man that’s hardly around to want it. I love you Jil and I hope you find peace for and your baby boy. ❤️ an Finally to my girls, there’s really nothing you can’t do when you have each other, so thank you for showcasing the importance of companionship and friendship. Cause these monsters keep dieing at the end, they really do deserve punishment

Okay, so first of all I have to address The Women’s Murder Club, there’s just something about smart boss nonsense women that gets me going. Also, I have to address Christopher John Raeleigh, my precious, precious Token male character, I miss you and RIP, they robbed us of you and Lindsay being more 😭🫀. But honestly, James Patterson know as he to spin a fucking tale, like are you joking, you have not read crime and mystery until you’ve read a James Patterson novel. What a writer! This is what you call a page turner, this is what you call a mystery/thriller novel. God bless this man and his family. I couldn’t put this down. But the rating is solely because he killed off Mr Christopher John Raeleigh + the ending felt a bit lackluster

What can I say about the over arching story of Apophis in this trilogy, it was stunning, the buildup, the stakes, the relationships, everything about this had me on the edge of my seat. I initially started this series, to get out of a dangerous reading slump, and it did just that and more, as I said before, this is the author of childhood and one of the reasons that I’m unfortunately so obsessed with reading. Also honorable mention to my faves, Walt/Anubis unexpectedly becoming my fav duo of lovestruck boys and to Sadie Kane for making them that way (it’s not easy to make both a god and a man fall irreversibly in love with you, but of course you can’t doubt Sadie Kane), Carter for being incredibly obsessed with our girl Zia Rashid, love that for you, plus Set who’s has always been incredibly sassy and unintentionally funny, and to Amos, whose strength can not be understated. Incredible book and incredible story.
