this had off campus vibes in the best way! summer’s ex also reminded me of the ex from icebreaker. i just wish there were a few elements that she delved into a little more (summer’s specific history w her dad, her research, aiden’s life after his childhood), and that she took some small things out (a few of the side characters, some of the sexist comments from the players, maybe one sex scene). the relationship is really sweet though, and i cant wait to read spiral !!!

thank you to netgalley and the publisher for an arc!

this is an enjoyable read that i will definitely recommend to YA readers. the size and chronic illness rep are great additions. most of the external conflicts were pretty compelling. the ending reminded me a little too much of see you yesterday by rachel lynn solomon, and i would have liked an epilogue.
