Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford

Such a sweet story with the hard historical facts really making you feel what Japanese Americans felt. I loved the way the book jumped from young boy to adult and back again. Very satisfying read.

Parts of it were good, not great. I love her as Leslie Knope.... and basically just wanted an autobiography of her, but it's not just Leslie. I loved the parts about her thoughts on Parks and Recreation and some of her advice like "good for you, not for me." She is unapologetic about who she is and her self confidence is something I really admire. The book itself was hard to finish.

I learned so much while reading this and genuinely enjoyed it. The way she unfolds the story of the huge California library fire is intriguing. The researcher in me loved the depth and detail of libraries and librarians. I was surprised at how fast I finished it.
