what is it that makes keyes books such a breeze to read? what is it? how real the characters seem? the way she structures the stories? her subject choices? the seamless transitions from comedy to tragedy? god i just love chic-lit.

sad, sad book. felt very deeply lonely while reading this. how very futile to try and capture and contain what you love only to then realise it’s futile and that it withers away.
