Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

I appreciate the idea of the story. I also appreciate what it represents and the symbolism behind it. I will also say I'm glad I actually sat down as an adult and read it versus when I was forced to read it out in my 9th grade class.
However, it was an easy read (it's not that advance for Shakespeare). It just wasn't for me. It was hard to pin point I don't mind fast romances, but it was just a bit too much?

The Day the World Ended at Little Bighorn: A Lakota History by Joseph M. Marshall III

I love how informative this was. However, it was written in a way that was hard for me to focus and keep my attention. I didn't hate it, but I basically had to read it twice to piece everything together because my mind kept running off.
Othello by William Shakespeare
4.0
I like that Othello himself is a victim and an anti-villain. I loved how it handled jealousy and rage. I really didn't feel the need to root for anybody though. My only real "issue" is, I didn't feel need to root for anybody. I enjoyed it a lot either way.
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

“Remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird.”
This book is so important.
I read this the first time in the 9th grade. I really think I was not in the right mental place for this book. I never really wanted to read anything teachers wanted us to read so I never really gave this a chance.
However, now that I’m older and reading this in free will... wow.
It’s kind of weird cause there are stuff that they get so right about Alabama (born and raised here) but it is based in the ‘30s and the exact opposite end of Alabama where I’m at, so there’s so much my mind can’t fully comprehend.
We read about racism and we understand modern racism. It’s surreal to read in the mindset and the environment of this time. It was also strange hearing people refer to black people as the n word like it was nothing. But I’m happy this wasn’t censored because I really think it captured the time.
I also loved Scout. She was written well and super developed.
It was also really nice we got so much world development before the trial.

Hamlet by William Shakespeare

I'm not an expert on Shakespeare, even though I'm trying to read all of his plays. I'm not an English person, so take my review as a casual reader/
I enjoyed this greatly. I didn't appreciate it when I was a senior in high school, but as an adult I loved it. Especially the scenes involving the ghost.
If you feel bored or uncertain by Shakespeare, give this play a chance!

Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak

I knew the movie was based off a children's book. I was expecting size of like the Narnia books or Judy B Jones. I saw it in a store and thought why not.
The artwork is beautiful for what it is. I like the creatures featured in it. I also thought the story was cute.

An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green

You can definately tell who wrote it. However, it is not a bad thing. The story is very unique and I liked the writing style. I feel like this story will feel really dated in about 10/15 years but it's a nice read.
Pleasantly surprised.

It was a good book. I dont know what happened to the second book but the 1st and 3rd book are pretty good.
The series isn't mind blowing but it's pleasant. I love the historical fiction aspect more the characters.

Read this originally in sophomore year in high school, but I did not appreciate it as much as I do now.
It questions tyranny but greatly shows how complex human mentality can be.

I liked it. It's okay. I adored how disabilities were handled. Disabilities = power. I just loved that. I loved that this isn't a western fantasy novel. The story was solid. I wasn't wow'd but I liked it.
