sally rooney strikes again. after reading and loving normal people, i didn't expect her debut to shake me as it did.
the characters were complex and devastatingly human. frances was so relatable it hurt. i loved the pacing and the evolution. it was natural and subtle but poignant.
this read changed how i see relationships and made me rethink my vision of love and sexuality. it really demonstrated how complex and different relations can be.
overall one of my favorite reads of all time, all hail miss rooney <3

Read for school. Boring, uneventful. Maybe I missed the point but I enjoyed none of it. My teacher sold it to us as a funny book.... if this is her sense of humor I'm very sad for her.

well, this was not the sweet read i expected...

i really loved this book. it was a difficult and challenging read but it was all worth it.
altough it was a slow paced novel, it was poignant and truly captivating all along. i loved the contrast between marion and patrick's point of views, you could really see how they perceived themselves, tom and their relationship with him.
i reaaaally wished i could've had a bit of tom's insight. i felt like he became a bit flat between marion and patrick. not having his point of view when he's the centar pillar of the story made him feel a bit distant.
otherwise, marion and patrick were complex and gave a real depth to the story. i loved patrick's artistic view of the world and his langage and i absolutely despised marion and how selfish and delusionnal she was. both characters felt real and raw and i loved that.

i've only seen bad reviews on this but..... i loved it. i must've missed something. i, personnally, could't put it down.
i was intrigued and loved the plot. i had a little trouble getting attached to theo but it didn't take anything away from the book. also, i must be stupid or something because i tell you, i did NOT see the ending coming at ALL. i was shocked and had a hell of a time reading this. like, i will remember it for a long time. some characters lacked a little depth or complexity but it didn't affect anything to me. i also think a few mental health concepts were clumsily exploited but i get that as an author, you can't get it all right.
all in all, a really enjoyable read and a very good thriller. one of my favorite reads this year.

this'll be short and sweet: it's everything i want in a romance.
LOVED the characters, the story, the development, the pace, the humor, all of it.
I will say, some little things like bee's outfit choices or attitudes made me cringe a little, i think the author was a little clumsy with how she handled bee's age and personality but she charmed me nontheless.
will recommend and reread for suuuuuuure <3
