Too long and the "twists" weren't that shocking.

I love stories of extreme climbing and caving. This book had both.

The ending was meh but the story was good.

I thought this was a thriller, not a horror novel!  So pleasantly surprised by how good this was. My only complaint is there was not enough backstory of the demon!

I would have given this book a 5* if they hadn't tried to make t so twisty/ turny.  Its okay to draw a straight line in telling a story.

Imperial Russian meets bolshivk agitator and fall in love. Their story is told piecemeal throughout the novel. From the fall of The  White Palace,  the Seige of Lenningrad, to the rise of democracy they loved each other.

Not a bad book, rather enjoyable.

Initially I gave this a 5* but after digesting it for a while I'm dropping to 4.l due to predictabl  outcomes at the end of the book.

The descriptions of living full time on a boat, having the freedom to go wherever the tides took you is very alluring. However you'd better be mechanical minded and self sufficient along with your sense of adventure.

Since this *is* a thriller, you know theres gonna be a bad person w/a secret to hide. I wasn't surprised with the reveal and had anticipated it from the beginning.

I did enjoy the story telling of the author and the pace of this story was very fast.

Overall a very enjoyable read.

I had really high expectations based upon ARC reviews. While this wasn't a bad book, it did not have enough of the reason "why".  Why is that valley evil?  What made it so. Why did some go there with favors while others were lured in?

I keep thinking there would be A Truman Show type twist, but no. Just a lot of unanswered questions.

Sadly I paid for this one as Libby/my library will never aquire a copy of this due to it not being a Collen Hoover or Dean Koontz book.

If you can read it for free, not bad. 100% not worth the 11.99 kindle price nor the 5.59 price I paid after my digital credits were applied.

I know that high school can be hell but this 1 takes the cake. I only experienced frustration at lack of adult intervention in this YA novel while reading this book.

This story had some good elements to it. But not enough to really even make me want to read tbe rest or the story and forget about the series. No thank you!

I returned this book once finished and there was no wait for it. Hmm, an author this popular and no wait. I guess someone knew it wasn't any good.  Just wasn't me!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 26%.
I didn't realize this is classified as "Gothic " horror when I chose it. I'm not a fan of that slow burn with fakeout scares. Plus audio is so much harder for me to force myself to finish.  So it's a DNF.
