I received a copy through VoraciousReader. A good read if you like occult horror. I was very interested because it was dark, set in the South and the plot sounded interesting. It was difficult to read at times but the author is very good at painting a picture with an extensive vocabulary. But Noah was down right unlikeable. I didn't like a single character but I wanted to know where the author was going with the story the whole time.

An interesting read. A little boring and the characters felt very one dimensional. I understand why but this book almost put me in a reading slump. Even the big reveals felt dull. I fully understand what they're doing but I feel like the execution could have been a little better.

The book was boring. The plot was dull and felt cliché. The characters were insufferable. I only completed for a reading challenge. It's good if you like anti hero females with a predictable storyline. HOWEVER I will say the plot twist actually shocked me and that's rare. Probably the best bit of the book and elevated it from a 1 star.

A decent read. However it felt very rushed in parts and juvenile in others. Felt like watered down Fourth Wing.

This story draaagggeeeddd. It felt very uninspired and frankly quite cringey. The only reason I finished it was to complete a Kindle reading challenge. All the characters felt like caricatures and the twist was easy to see coming. The main character felt super unlikeable. Overall felt like every single cliché about "witches" was used.

SUCH a good book. I can't wait until December. The writing was beautiful and the story hooked me. Did not want to put it down. But I'm sad it's over.

It was a very enjoyable read. I really loved the main character and the dragons and the pace.

I loved this book so much. It would have me sobbing one minute and laughing the next. I was VERY attached the characters and relieved/sad when it ended.

This was a fun, fast read but it felt juvenile and predictable. I wasn't a fan of the way Jazz was written and all the jokes felt very middle school. But it wasn't a bad book. Just had an overall YA feel to it.
