BOO YOU WHORE!

I have nothing else to say. Thank you.
Poles Apart by Kirsty Moseley

I'm seriously disappointed with this book. I quite like Kirsty Moseley as an author, but this book just was not good. The characters were both immature and the whole "FUCKING MARRY ME" thing was just stupid and not needed.

I wasted £2 on this book and if I could I'd ask for my money back.

DNF at page 3. Yep! Page 3!

I just could not carry on. The narrative voice was bland and I spotted so so so many mistakes within 3 pages. Not only were there grammar errors, but the historical context just played on my mind because it was all wrong.

Beautiful Redemption by Margaret Stohl, Kami Garcia

I seriously give up on this series. Beautiful Creatures was dragged out, Beautiful Darkness was amazing and Beautiful Chaos was a complete and utter mess. The 100 and so pages I have read aren't exciting and Ethan is such a boring protagonist.

Okay, so the ending really changed everything for me. I love the characters, although there are a few too many to follow but I think Charlie Higson has set up a series nicely. I'm super excited to continue on with the series and find out what happens to the Waitrose and Morrison's Crew.
Silence by Natasha Preston

Silence was one of the very first books I ever read on Wattpad. But it's so great seeing the improvement and changes to the published version.

Silence is an important story that showcases the life of a mute teenage girl who just wants to escape her life and find someone who will love her. And while the story itself is cliché and predictable at times, I can't help but love the characters for all their flaws. And for me that's one of the things Natasha does well: her characters are realistically flawed people floating about in a world trying to find out who they are and who they want to be.

A great read for anyone wanting to get into Contemporaries.
Only Ever Yours by Louise O'Neill

I put down this book at 79 pages.

First off let me tell you all that I didn't DNF this book because it was bad. In fact the premise is one of the most original I've read. A YA Feminist Dystopian that displayed the most realistic portrayal of Teenagers in our day and age.

I loved the characters and I wanted to know what was going to happen, but I just couldn't get used to the writing style. It just didn't appeal to me.

BUT!

If you do want a different take on YA Dystopia that shows how messed up our world is, then this is for you!

DNF'd at page 130.

At this moment in time I'm just not ready for this book. I was really liking the characters and their story but there were some parts that bugged me some and I'd rather read this book when I'm in the mood to do so.
If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo

EDIT - 01/12/2016: I've decided to change this review back to a 1 star rating. I really hate this book. One of the worst of this year.

Yeah, I know what you're thinking. A person who struggles with Gender Identity rating a book about Gender Identity lowly but I have my reasons.

The main reason is that this book and Meredith Russo's writing lacks depth. There's no feelings or enough background information for you to know Amanda Hardy. Meredith has the knowledge of the topic but she doesn't have to writing skills or the story telling skills to produce the story in the correct way. Amanda's personality is flat, she's boring and nothing to get excited about. You so badly want to love her but she's just unreachable.

If I Was Your Girl was one of my most anticipated releases. You want to know my thoughts now? I honestly wish I hadn't wasted £8 of my money on a book not worthy of the price. Can I get a refund?
Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne

At the beginning I wasn't entirely sold on the story, mainly because it sounded a little like 'My Mad Fat Diary' but with the main character being of average weight and called Evie instead of Rae. But once I got into the book the more I really appreciated it. Holly really depicted mental illness in a very realistic way, even to the point that I felt everything Evie was going through. I felt her urges, her emotions and that's what you want from a book like this. But this book also comes under fire from it's Feminism.

Holly (the author) says that to her Feminism means men and women being treated and respected as equals but this novel was so far from that. EVERY male character in the book was described as arseholes who all had to have their ego stroked and just wanted sex instead of being tied down (that's how it's put in the novel), and that is not the truth. The only decent male character in the book ended up having a mental illness very similar to Evie and what does she do? She makes fun of him instead of supporting him. And that made me hate Evie a little. I understand you need to put yourself and your mental illness first, I've been through it myself, however, the way she reacted was just so horribly put.
