The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

I couldn't put it down and read it in one night. Did I love it? Not as much halfway through as I did when I started, but that was more me having a problem with Rachel's personality. I would get angry at how she allowed others to treat her, but once I accepted that we all deal with people in our lives differently, I was able to let it go and continue with the story. I rarely had sympathy for Megan or Anna.

Wow. Wavy and Kellan are characters you root for and they stay with you.

Lo was pleasant company, but not as intriguing to me as Carrie.

I'll accept any story from a fellow insomniac. It's a bonus when the story is very interesting. I learned from this book that it's impolite to be openly interested in what EMT's see on the job, but if you're lucky (or unlucky) enough they just might tell you. This book reads like a two-hour chance conversation with someone in the middle of the night at a diner you didn't expect to be sitting at.

Lizzie was scattered. Michael was a douche. Finn was amusing at times. Taylor was a doormat. Snow was nuts. I can't think of a worse group of people to be stuck on a tour with. I enjoy Ephron's work so I was mixed about this story with not one character worth rooting for. It did give Lizzie writing material and maybe that was the silver lining.

Win is one of my favorite characters in the Bolitar series. I'm glad part of the book was from his point of view. It's never a dull moment to be in Win's head.

It's been about a year between the two Mickey Bolitar novels for me. I'm glad everyone is reunited. Now I need a book of just Win and Ema solving a case together.
