Wow this was so satisfying.

A great ending to a trilogy that really grew on me. The second and last books actually gave me a new appreciation for the first one that I did not enjoy that much but I'm sure I'll love when eventually I read it again.

If dragon's promise why so little dragons? But that's unfair to the book as there's dragons enough but since I love dragons so much, it never seems to be enough for me personally.

This was lovely, and the bittersweet ending worked perfectly.

Well, it is never a good thing when you finish a book with the question "what was the point of this?"

There was no character development whatsoever, it could certainly be about 200 pages shorter, everything was not taken seriously by the narrative so it made the stakes feel very non-existent. I didn't feel anything for the protagonists this time (which is a shame because I remember enjoying them in the first book) and I found myself struggling to care about their relationship. And the rest of the characters simply didn't had enough going on for them, and the found family thing fell so short this time around. On the fantasy aspects, it could have been so much more but it was all scrapped for the romance...

Basically, we could have done without this book.

Was not expecting so many bonus stories after the last chapter but was surprised in a good way with it and very happy. The ending was a tad abrupt I felt, so it was nice to have these short stories to soft it.

Overall this series is far from perfect but it's still great in a way and I've really grown to love the characters so it was a very enjoyable read.
