Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

Serious subject matter but the way it was handled in this book was not good at all.
If you wanted me to feel sympathy for Hannah, you fail miserably because I didn't at all.. I felt like she was a petty bitch in the beginning of book. Not how it felt like the reason why she committed suicide was to get revenge on people who made her life shitty. Bout time I felt some kind of sympathy for her the book was like 70% over
Like it being the final laugh on her part and the lives who ruined hers was going to be ruin as well. It was Revenge and Guilt suicide which is actually a real thing.
Here's the definitions for them.
Revenge suicide-One form of revenge suicide is where the person has been hurt or rejected by people who are important, in his or her life, and believes that suicide will enable to take revenge on those who were responsible for 'driving' him or her to their death.
Guilt suicide-When someone commits an act or crime that harms another person in some way, this can result in feelings of shame and guilt.
That's exactly what Hannah Baker did to a T. I feel like she didn't commit suicide because she felt hopeless in her situation. She committed suicide to get back as everyone who made her life a living hell.
Yes What they did to her was shity but her creating those tapes to short of rubbing in their face as to why she commited sucide is shity as well.
Two shity things don't make a right especially when some of things could have prevented on her part.
I really don't know how to feel about Clay because I feel like it was the wrong narrator of the book. I think it would have been more interesting if the narrator was the teacher or Jessica. I think it would have really hit it in the gut if it was the teacher since they could see all the signs they missed.
Maybe the netflix show is better but I doubt it.
I really don't recommend this book to anyone who had or having suicidal thoughts.
I will recommend the suicide prevention hotline and website.

BTW if any know if the song played at the end of the Audiobook is available for download let me know. That was probably one of the best things about the book.

I'm so disappointed in this book that it doesn't even deserve a review but I'll write one..
This was one of my most anticipated books of this year and it just disappointed me. ( Yall know how I am with BATB retellings.)
It started strong but slow but just fizzed out as I got farther into it and I had to force myself to finish it.
I loved Yeva at the beginning but now I really don't know how to feel about her.
The beast was too overdramatic for my tastes.
One of the biggest things for me is the fact I didn't connect to Yeva and the beast so called "romance". Hell I didn't even consider them friends at all. How can you when both keep telling the other that they are their captor for a cause or they will kill them in order to avenge someone that the other one didn't kill?
Beast: " I'm your captor but I need you to end my suffering so I'm going to lie to you by saying I killed your loved one and going to kill your other love ones if you don't help me. "
Yeva: "I hunt and kill you for what you did!!"
YOU KEPT REPEATING THIS SHIT DURING THE WHOLE BOOK SO IT WAS HARD TO SEE THEIR REACTIONS AS BEING FRIENDLY! THAT ANY THING THEY DID FOR EACH OTHER WAS THEM BEING FRIENDLY AND MAYBE FALLING IN LOVE! ALSO SOME OF THE THINGS THE BEAST DID WAS OF A CAPTOR! YOU CAN'T BUILD A FRIENDSHIP LET ALONE A ROMANCE WHEN YOU KEEP HANGING ON THAT!!
Also the fact this retelling of BATB ( which was a mixture of the original and the Disney version) really felt like Stockholm Syndrome to fullest because of that. In all honestly worse than the original cause with this one it seem like the author was trying to drive the point home. It honestly worked against her cause the romance wasn't believable because of it. This is why I love the disney version cause after their first icy interactions they started to become friends. The beast never referred to her as his captor at all but his friend. She never saw herself as his captor after their first couple meetings but as her friend. It wasn't until to was released and she come back to warn him about gaston that she realized she loved him. This version has nothing of that at all.
Also when you mix another fairy tale which not as known as the main one you are using, make sure it stand out more instead of being footnote that was used more towards the end. I never really heard of the Russian fairy tale "Tsarevitch Ivan, the Firebird and the Gray Wolf" so it would have been nice that it was more in the forefront while BATB was in the background.
I read a lot of reviews saying this remind them of ACOTAR which it doesn't at all to me. The only thing this got in common with ACOTAR is both of the MCs are hunters. This honestly remind me more of Wrath and the Dawn due to that fact she was telling him stories, she wanted to kill him and only tried twice, and he was under a curse. That's it.
Don't get me started with this weird love triangle between Yeva, her sister and guy who wanted to Marry Yava cause they were both hunters.. ( Which seem like the only thing they had in common) It all honestly, he didn't need to be there cause he added unnecessary drama that wasn't needed which got resolved in a nice little bow .
I do love the fact that the majority of the book was in 3rd pov cause I'm getting tired of 1st person.. That's probably the only thing I still liked as the story went.
So this one was a bomb for me.

Textrovert is a story about two strangers who accidentally switch phones and start a friendship over it. It pretty much a cute high school story about showing your true self and not what people think over you. It pretty much was like Romeo & Juliet with text messages since the main couple were from rival schools where the football teams couldn't stand each other. It also got a little bit of Beauty and the Beast since the main love interests was kind of full of himself until Keeley knocked him down a peg or two. It would have gotten four stars from but towards the 70% mark of the book, there were some unnecessary drama that was added that didn't help the story at all. It honestly hindered because it started to feel juvenile. Granted this is a book dealing with high schoolers but the drama could have been a little more mature than immature. This writing was good but the one gripe I have is that it should have been in 1st pov than 3rd. I can't believe I'm saying this cause I love 3rd pov than 1st pov. The fact the whole book was pretty much show all the events and thoughts of these in events in Keeley's point of view and no want else's, warrant's for it to be in 1st pov. In my head I kept changing the pronouns and the narrative flowed better since I saw everything in her mind. Overall it's a cute story but nothing grand about it...

God I hate this book so much. I lost a whole freaking weekend listening to this book to understand the hype..
It's not even a book but a bad fanfiction that got published
I can't understand how this book is getting so much love and five stars. It all honestly it does everything the booklr community complains about.
Weak main Character: Oh my god. I have never seen a MC who was so naive, whinny gullible, weak, vain, hypocritical and judgmental than Scarlett! I though the MC from Heartless was bad but Scarlett takes the cake. She's the first MC that I know that is not scared of a arranged marriage to someone that they never met. That's she literally trying rush and marry the guy with only his letters which he could be bullshitting which he was. She supposed to have special bond with he sister but spent more time criticizing her than loving her. How the hell can you tell her not to love someone she met in a week when you did the same damn thing? Actually did it in five freaking days. I couldn't get behind and root for her for nothing in this world. I wanted to hit her not hug or high five her...
Weak Love interest: If I see another person compare him to Throne from TLC.... I may not like Throne that much but he's WAY better than Julian. I could never trust him and his "realtionship' with Scarlett never felt real at all. I mean you just met the dude that your sister was hanging out with and you start to trust him.
Weak Worldbuilding: All I know it supposed to be Islands so it's almost like the Caribbean I guess. I think the Caravel supposed to be like Coney Island. It's so vague as hell. It also doesn't feel magical at all. I suppose to get the vibe that everything is not what it seems but it fell flat big time. Everyone lying doesn't make anything "magical"
Weak Villains: Who are the actual villains in this shit? Her father, the Count, and Legend? Their motivations lack so badly. I didn't feel no anger towards them but just "why the hell you are here? You are doing nothing for the plot." Count Dracy is a very nice last name for a count... Ms. Austen would be very proud of you..
Weak Side Characters: Tella was a bore but a master manipulator Who the hell would go though this all this damn trouble to get their sister out of a arrange marriage? Arranging your freaking kidnapping which wasn't a shock at all?? If I had sister like that I don't need enemies at all. Dante was a wannabe bad boy. Aniko was the only one that had potential but she fell flat.
Weak Plotline: Plot what plot?? It got more convoluted as the story went.. I saw that whole "twist" coming as soon Tella got "kidnapped"..
LACK OF DIVERSITY: Do I have to say more? Everyone in the booklr community screams this from A to Z but I haven't seen nobody question this book for it's lack of it. Since they are in the Islands which is similar to the Caribbean's, should Scarlett and her sister be PoC? Maybe the Caraval players were PoC, LBGT and disabled but who knows?? This author spent her time talking about taut muscle, strong jaws and the feel of his hands touching her back and making her think improper thoughts.. ( cough and everyone talks about Sarah coughs )
Weak Writing: Now I at first I did think the writing was beautiful but as it went it become repetitive and flowy sentence they wasn't needed. I hate this playing down to your audience feel I'm getting with this book. I DON'T NEED TO BE REMINDED EVERY FIVE DAMN SECONDS THAT SCARLETT IS TRYING TO SAVE HER SISTER SO SHE CAN GO BACK TO THE ISLANDS BEFORE THEIR SHITTY ASS FATHER FOUND THEM MISSING SO SHE CAN MARRY A COUNT THAT SHE NEVER MET THAT COULD BE AS SHITTY AS HER FATHER!!! I SHOULDN'T FIGURE OUT SOMETHING LIKE FIVE PAGES BEFORE THE MAIN CHARACTER DOES! I SHOULD BE SHOCKED AND NOT SAYING "OH YOU DUMB CHILD! I FIGURE THIS OUT AGES AGO!"
How many times you are going to use the phase " the color purple"??
I don't understand the hype at all it's getting on here and tumblr. It really amazes me that it's not only going to be a stand alone and it's rights already been sold for a movie. It's going to be a long year seeing this book on my updates.
One more thing.

This was pretty good as an adaption if you don't take it seriously and think it was going to be very true to the novel like other adaptations. Everything was kind of over the top ( Cough Mrs. Bennet which is a stretch since she was over the top in OG P&P cough) which if this was turned into a Shojo anime,it will be ok. One thing I felt it they went overboard with is Elizabeth's character. It was couple times I really want to say " Get a grip woman!"when she was mopping about if Dracy still love her which is not Lizzie at all. Dracy character was fine cause they straight turn him Tsundere which the author probably had a field day doing. All in All It was a fun read.

The Little Red Wolf by Amélie Fléchais
5.0
Received from Netgalley in exchange of honest review.
Five Stars!
This was a pretty dark but cute story that I was shocked about having such dark intones towards the end of the story. It's pretty much the reverse version of Little Red Riding Hood with the Wolf being Little Red and the humans being the villains of the story per se. The little wolf gets lost in the woods while trying to go to his grandma's house to deliver a rabbit to her. He meets a girl that he though was his friend but it was trap set for her father. Her father hunts wolves for living in order to get revenge for his wife but you found out the shocking twist at the end of the story. The artwork of this story was absolutely gorgeous with the colors going from light to dark as the story got darker. I do consider this a children's book but with darker intones that should be discussed with the children at the end of the story.
