This book was fun, I am intrested in seeing how the next book plays out I am very much intersted in diving deeper into Evvie's dark side.

Southern Gothic style is alive and well as long as Alix E. Harrow has anything to say about it, she writes deeply complex and interesting characters who are flawed, and I can't even say doing their best but I find myself rooting for them all the same. Harrow graples with the reality of growing up in a small southern town that you love to hate and hate to love, the roots and pain that come with being know about by everyone but truly known by no one.

The Duke and I by Julia Quinn

Daph and Simon are quick witted and fun, I will never forgive the show for taking all of Daphane's personality away in favor of a demure regency chit. These are the playbook for fake dating to lovers - in the era where sneaking out can lead to a rushed engagement. I stand by my statement that Julia Quinn is a modern day Jane Austen with spice added, and I love that for her and us, her readers.

This is a perfectly heartfelt book that I would read again and again! Abby Jimenez never misses, and Yours Truly broke me and put me back together again. I loved these charaters and I wanted every good thing for them. A pride and prejudice-like beginning to the story hooked me, and Jimenez's signature care and attention left me in love with these two.
