I drudged through this one. Thought it was going to be an easy read for the book riot challenge and it was agony with the typos and the historical inaccuracies of South Bend and it was plain torture. Oh and let's not forget the improper use of language for the time. Stepping down now.

Wonderful book and every word that Wendi said hit close to home. I loved how you yourself got to write the last chapter of the book. Through the prompts things came out that I didn't even realize I was holding onto. It's an amazing book and I not feel equipped to continue with my wait not matter how long it takes.

I was given an advanced sneak peek of this book by netgallery.

I understand that this book was inspired by the musical Hamilton. There could have been more research. I also can't stand the shortening of Alexander to Alex. The 1770s most likely didn't use nicknames. It would be like calling Thomas Jefferson, Tom.

I know one can't be a stickler for the language used for a ya book and maybe this is one of those books that's just for the young adult circle.

As a self proclaimed historian who does a program where the language has to match the time period even for the teens and children performing in the program. I think that's my draw back in not being able to enjoy this book is looking for the language to match the time period.

I wish the author would have spent more time on her family's immigration to the states and especially to the same rural town in Northern Indiana . That small town happens to be my hometown and I've never heard this story before. I may have to spend sometime in the local history room soon.

Received this as an advance copy from netgalley.

I love this book!! I love the story and I love the fact that the main character is a genealogist and a historian. This book was one after my own heart. As a historian and genealogist, I was so excited to read this book and see how well Becky Wade portrayed the character. Spot on by the way. Also I loved the prequel that came out right before this book. I couldn't put this book down and finished it in one day!!! Thanks netgalley and Bethany house for the advanced copy.

This book is extremely intense and full of drama. It's good don't get me wrong. I read this book in less than a day so it kept my attention wanting to know what was going to happen next and if all the secrets were going to come out.

My only question was if they were all suppose to be connected and interwoven where did tess' story come into play? Was it because her husband had a secret too or that it was her own secret at the end? So many questions with no answers. :)

I teetered between 3 and 4 stars. I've been watching a lot Suits and was expecting Andrew to be more of a Harvey Spector.

It's good but was hoping for more for a book that took me 3 hours to read...I was always hoping for more story...more development...we know find that Andrews a genius and Georgie is a socialite but what's the story individually as well as together.
