The Avery Shaw Experiment by Kelly Oram
5.0
A suprisingly sweet book. It is a teen romance but don't let that put you off, the guy in this book is adorable and seems excellent at supporting Avery, even when she doesnt want his support. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Its a light and fun read.
Four: A Divergent Story Collection by Veronica Roth

I am one of the people who always enjoys a more in depth look into characters so it is no suprise I enjoyed this book. While the writing seemed a little forced in places I did still enjoy the stories within.
Childhood, Interrupted by Sanjay Gupta

Im really not sure what I expected from this book however I came out of it feeling that it was too brief to actually tell us anything, it felt more like a parent in the school yard telling us some papers they had read on child development and how worrid they where about their children. This was interesting and I did listen to it all I guess I was nieve in thinking he would be able to predict how covid would affect future generations when in reality nobody can.
Jive by Les Bohem

This book is simply too short for the story it is trying to tell. The idea is interesting and most of it wholy believable, that being said it is far too rushed.
Pure As Snow by Laura Burton, Jessie Cal

This book is sold as a retelling of snow white, but it is so much more than that. There are so many teists and turns and so much content added to the story that it becomes entirely new, I would reccomend reading the earlier books in the series first as there is a lot of story and charachter crossover which would be very confusing if you hadn't read the other books.
The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks

Such a good book. An amazing story, an intricate world and complex characters and as I've read this series before i know it only gets better as well. Cant wait to start the next book.
Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northup
4.0
This was a really interesting book, especially for anyone who like me knows very little about the slave trade in southern america a worryingly short time ago. It is incredible to see the journey through solomons eyes. It is ofcourse compleatly impossible for anyone to imagine what he and people like him must have gone through. Even if he hadnt been put into slavery, the fact that as a black person at the time he was forced to carry papers confirming he was infact a free man and if those papers were to vanish he could be sold off like a farm animal. This is obserd. How people could believe they were good people while treating everyone different than them like animals is insane. I would reccomend reading this book to anyone who gets a chance to read it.
Clara's Soldier: A Retelling of the Nutcracker by Brittany Fichter

Not what I expected
This book was unexpected. I know the story of the nutcracker ofcourse but this book shines a whole new light on the ideas behind it. I can't say much without giving the story away but this is a quick read and thiugh its confusing (there is a time when you arent supposed to know whats going on) it kept me reading, needing to know how the story would end.

Bluebeard and the Outlaw by Tara Grayce

Shockingly good
I was so suprised by this book. The title led me to believe it would simply be an easy, empty read. What I actually found was a thrilling and interesting story. Things aren't always what they seem, nobody is perfect and sometimes you can hurt when you mean to help
