Heroes: Mortals and Monsters, Quests and Adventures by Stephen Fry

I really enjoyed this book, though I still think the first book was better. I enjoyed the stories he chose and how he told them. The only issue I had was it was it seemed far less ordered than Mythos, I will still most likely read it again.
The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis

"The Present is the point at which time meets eternity"
I suprised myself by enjoying this book.
I expected it to be purely satirical, I did not expect it to be so thought provoking.
It talked about the differences between actual faith and the faked prideful kind.
It spoke of the misguided beliefs of some religious people
"Without that the
variety of usage within the Church of England might have become a posetive hotbed of charity and humility"
"Men or nations who think they can revive the Faith in order to make a good society might just as well think thay can use the stairs of heaven as a shortcut to the nearest chemist's shop"
It also spoke of struggles that everyone faces, religious or otherwise
"Men are not angered ny mere misfortune, but by misfortune conceived as injury"
It's description of the "all I want" state of mind is most likely something a lot of us are guilty of in varying degrees and I could easily see how it could progress.

I had soooo many issues with this book.
The guy tricks the girl into intimate situations by pretending to be someone else. She makes it clear she is only interested in him as a friend yet he gets touchy feely and makes her uncomfortable. He gets mad at her for leading him on even though he has been participating in this flirting/ teasing thing for years which he could have at any point asked her to stop.
Overall this book made me feel uncomfortable, I was not rooting for the main couple to get back together and it made me feel a little icky.
I gave it an extra star as I will admit I liked the twist near the end.

How could I not love this story, Hephy is so darn sweet and Aphrodite is flawed like everone but even she can find true love. It was so devastating when the timeliness shifted and their romance became nothing but a memory. This book shows the two different paths that two different versions of Aphrodite took. The question is will the Aphrodite we all know and love be forced to face the consequences of her other self?
Could Hephestus ever look at her and see anything but the lying cheating harpy that he had known?
The answer,
Is in the book, go read it.

I love this entire world that the author has created but I especially like this generation. They are more care free and silly than some of the older generations, they are also adventurous and very much their own people. I've now read this book a few times and it never gets old.
The Ice Queen by Jovee Winters

Not my favorite book in this series but still one of the best Ice queen retellings I've read. Luminessa is flawed, scarred and has been through more than anyone should be expected to deal with. It was nice to see her grow as a charachter and learn that softness does not always mean weakness.

Interesting, the writing style is that of a journal, it makes you think of how you would react in this situation. It is only a short book and a very easy read.

Short but powerful
I liked this short story, though I mainly only picked it up to complete an ABC reading challenge, there is very little I can say without essentially telling you the whole book, what I will say is that this book managed to make me feel for the character in such a small space of time, what other books would take hours of reading to achieve.

Loved this so much, each comedian told a different story, wherther it was their own realisation that they were part of the LGBT+ community or how being part of the community affected them. Overall though the message was the same, it was about accepting who you are and loving yourself for it
Beauty and the Beast: Lost in a Book by Jennifer Donnelly

This book shifts between the story we already know and the new twist. the chapters vary in lengoodsometimes only two pages but the pacing is good. I've always had a soft spot for the beast but I found myself getting attatched to other characters as well. A character id only known for a dozen pages managed to make me cry. It is a well thought out story and an excellent read for any beauty and the beast fans.
