Well this was a "little" slice of joy.

Super short, sweet and wholesome (and k!nky) romance with an established couple. After 10 years Phil needs something, and this novella show's him asking for it and receiving it.

Top tier disability representation, I adored that it showed Jason's internal conflict and how a supportive partner can really make things less overwhelming.

The author was new to me and I'll be looking to read more of their work in the future.

No mpreg shifting novel *happy dance*

Taboo - But doesn’t really feel it (at least early on). The bros are being driven by their mating not an ACTUAL desire for each other. Also people see it as something to snicker about…not super taboo.

I love that Riley was raised like an Alpha, and that Shiloh’s wolf feels (wolf for emasculated 😬) it adds a whole different vibe.

Feel like AGES since I found a shifter novel (with pack nonsense) I was really into. Brotherly love aside. This was just a genuinely fun read. I was hooked up into the drama that comes along with a good enemy of the pack story.

I've been on a SUPER spicy reading binge and this fit right in.

Dr. K!nk and his nosy new nurse realise that maybe just a working relationship may not be enough for them.

Medical kink 🥵
Voyeurism
Oh wow…soooo spicy

I’m a BIG fan of puns; this book tested even my limits.

Hurt/comfort/hurt donut 🍩
Found family
Homophobia

I appreciated and hurt for Wishes. The cognitive dissonance of loving and feeling a specific way about a person and then their death be so different and not jive with how you knew them, would be so difficult. It must be so hard to lose an imperfect person and have to act like they were because your child saw them as a superhero.

Over all this book was good. The pace wavered a bit, it probably could have been a whole lot shorter. I felt like the relationship progressed really well to begin with. As things moved on there were so many communication issues, and I felt like every other page had the guys taking a step forward or a step back. Despite this I had a really difficult time putting it down.

A slur is used once which considering the context and maturity if the character who said it off page, I’m not too terribly hung up on it. What I have a bigger issue with is that the author had their characters reading a book (mentioned by author and title) it dates the book, and because of the choice of novel it left a gross taste in my mouth. It’s literally mentioned at 97% and sadly spoiled the last 15 pages of the book for me.

JUST DON’T mention things that can date a book. Classic books for adult/kids nothing from the last 80 years.

*Magic* I'm not sure I'll hear any criticism of these books.

These blue daddies and their pillow princes 😆. Pretty insta-lovey but in a way that feels logical and not icky.

I’ve really enjoyed this series my MA Innes. I read the first 3 books last year and was pretty excited when this one was released. Pretty light easy reads

The humans really make the series for me, the tentacle guys are cute n all but have no chill. Their little humans are tentacle drunk messes that have to figure everything out for reals.

Wright reminds me of my German flatmate from Uni…Unironically, “My Dane was fortunate to have such a smart Daddy.” 100% something the former flatmate would say.

Homophobia

Email/Text correspondence 🥺 defiantly a theme I love.

So much internalised homophobia by Jax
So much emotion

Despite his internal conflict Jax goes all in with Wild refusing to waste his second chance knowing he’s never loved anyone else and 9 years on he’s still madly hooked on Wild. I love that he just snaps and comes out consequences be damned.

Good balance of sad story and spicy

So thrilled that the epilogue was years after the book and not months.

Book just drove in from word go. so much banter between ALL the characters. The MCs are in instant like LIKE with one another.

Ultimately this was emotional and lovely but really it's the light hearted interactions in this book that really stood out and left me happy with this read.

I was a little disappointed I had no issues putting this down to do other things, I really liked what I was reading but it just didn’t have a vice grip on me and couldn’t keep me up past my bed time.

Super long, I feel like 100 pages could have been cut and it would have still been good. It was SLOW. Literally would have been perfect if it kept the pace of the first and last few chapters.

Seeing as this is the 7th book in the The Nashville Spicy series and was my first, I’ll likely go back and read the love stories for the guys I met in this book.

A bit more serious (as in not joke filled) than I usually reach for.

Uggh “Billionaire” romance! The difference between billionaire and millionaire is more vast than the difference between me and a millionaire…the gulf is HUGE. But we're expected to believe that this just a normal guy, living in the SMALL town (that he grew up in) and is a single dad. I love a bit of reality suspension, when it comes to monster peen, ineptitude of law enforcement, lack of gag reflexes. But this is a step too far for me.

It really created a hurdle that was hard for me to get over.

Much of the book felt intentionally vague at times…no ages talked about, adult children that didn't grow up in the town come to visit old friends, but in the time these friendships were able to form the adults haven’t really seen each other in almost 2 decades? The kids would be 18 at maximum both have multiple kids...so how do they all live away from home?! It all seems a bit forced because there is insufficient back story to establish who these people are.

This is 100% a romance my mother would love...

Hilarious, informative, and a pleasure that must have been so difficult to write and voice herself. As a romance reader it had a distinct lack of kissing, but I’m willing to overlook look that because of how wonderful and funny this was on the whole.

It felt like I had a friend telling me a story and I was EATING it up.
